Questions and answers

Short answers to the questions readers ask most. Each one links to the page that explains it in full, with sources.

Couplers, adapters and swivels

What is the most common pressure washer fitting?

No source we read counts them. AR Blue Clean offers only a general observation about where 14 mm and 15 mm M22 fittings tend to appear, with no model list. Identify the fittings on your own machine instead. More in Couplers, adapters and swivels

Do I need thread tape?

It depends on the thread. Swagelok says tapered pipe threads such as NPT seal on the threads and always need a sealant, while straight threads seal with a gasket, O-ring or metal contact, so sealant is not required or recommended on them. M22 and quick-connect joints seal on O-rings. More in Couplers, adapters and swivels

What is the difference between M22 14 mm and 15 mm?

The same 22 mm outside thread with a different inner stem. AR Blue Clean says a 14 mm stem in a 15 mm bore will leak, and a 15 mm stem will not fit into a 14 mm bore. The M22 14 mm vs 15 mm guide explains how to tell them apart. More in Couplers, adapters and swivels

Can I convert my machine to quick-connect?

Some makers sell kits for it. RYOBI's RY31QCK01 is a 7-piece quick-connect kit rated for washers up to 4,000 PSI, and ECHO's kit converts M22 to 3/8 in male or female connectors for operation up to 4,000 PSI. Active, by contrast, says not to convert the Active 2.0's inlet or outlet to a direct quick connect, so check your own maker's guidance first. More in Couplers, adapters and swivels

What is the difference between 3/8 and 1/4 quick connect?

Size and job. In the maker documents we read, 3/8 in quick-connects join hoses to pumps and guns, and 1/4 in quick-connects take nozzles and attachments at the wand. One does not fit the other. More in 3/8 vs 1/4 in pressure washer quick-connects

Which end is the plug and which is the coupler?

The plug (male, also called a nipple in industrial catalogs) pushes into the coupler (female), which has a sliding collar or sleeve. SIMPSON's 41028 hose has a 3/8 in male plug on one end and a female socket on the other. More in 3/8 vs 1/4 in pressure washer quick-connects

Are brass quick connects rated lower than stainless?

In Dixon's industrial H-Series, a 3/8 in brass coupler is rated 2,500 PSI against 3,500 for 303 stainless and 4,000 for steel. Those are industrial parts; for any pressure-washer quick-connect, read that part's own rating. More in 3/8 vs 1/4 in pressure washer quick-connects

Do I need thread tape on a quick-connect?

Never on the quick-connect itself; it seals with an O-ring. Tapered pipe threads on the back of a fitting seal on the thread and need sealant, per Swagelok. More in 3/8 vs 1/4 in pressure washer quick-connects

What is the difference between M22 14 mm and 15 mm?

Both have the same 22 mm outside thread. They differ in the inner stem diameter, 14 mm or 15 mm, which is where the O-ring seals. More in M22 14 mm vs 15 mm pressure washer fittings

Why does my M22 fitting screw on but leak?

The thread can match while the stem does not. AR Blue Clean says a 14 mm stem in a 15 mm bore will leak, and a 15 mm stem will not go into a 14 mm bore. Do not force or over-tighten it; find the right part. More in M22 14 mm vs 15 mm pressure washer fittings

How do I know if my pressure washer is 14 mm or 15 mm?

Measure the inner bore of the male M22 end, or read the maker's documentation for that model. We do not name a size for a whole brand, because no maker document we read does. More in M22 14 mm vs 15 mm pressure washer fittings

Can I use a 14 mm hose on a 15 mm machine?

Only through an adapter whose maker states both ends, such as AR Blue Clean's PW554-B (15 mm swivel inlet, 14 mm male outlet). Check that the adapter's rating covers your machine; AR states none for the PW554-B. More in M22 14 mm vs 15 mm pressure washer fittings

Is M22 the same as 3/8 NPT?

No. M22 x 1.5 is a straight metric thread with a 1.5 mm pitch that seals on an O-ring. 3/8 NPT is a tapered inch pipe thread with 18 threads per inch that seals on the thread with sealant. More in NPT vs BSP vs M22 pressure washer threads

How do I tell NPT from BSP?

NPT has a 60-degree thread angle; BSPT and BSPP have 55 degrees. At 1/4 and 3/8 in, NPT has 18 threads per inch and BSPT 19. Swagelok warns the 1/2 and 3/4 in sizes can be hard to tell apart without an optical comparator. More in NPT vs BSP vs M22 pressure washer threads

Should I use Teflon tape on pressure washer fittings?

Only on tapered pipe threads, which seal on the thread. Straight threads such as M22 seal on a gasket or O-ring, where Swagelok says sealant is not required or recommended; follow a maker's own kit instructions where they differ. A leak at an O-ring joint means a damaged O-ring, which Champion says to replace. More in NPT vs BSP vs M22 pressure washer threads

What does 3/8 FPT mean?

A female (internal) tapered pipe thread of 3/8 in nominal size. Suttner lists most of its guns with a 3/8 in FPT inlet and a 1/4 in FPT outlet. More in NPT vs BSP vs M22 pressure washer threads

How do I connect an M22 hose to a quick-connect gun?

With an adapter whose maker names both ends, such as ECHO's kit (M22 to 3/8 in male or female, listed to 4,000 PSI), or a gun that ships with one, such as DEWALT's DXPA45SG with its QC adaptor. Match the M22 stem size and the QC size. More in Pressure washer adapters: M22, quick-connect and brand fittings

Is there an adapter from 14 mm to 15 mm M22?

Yes. AR Blue Clean's PW554-B has a 15 mm M22 swivel inlet and a 14 mm male outlet, and MTM Hydro sells separate 14 mm and 15 mm kits. AR states no pressure rating for the PW554-B. More in Pressure washer adapters: M22, quick-connect and brand fittings

Do adapters reduce the pressure rating?

Cat Pumps says a high-pressure system is only as strong as its weakest component. If an adapter is rated lower than your hose, the adapter's rating is the limit; if it states no rating, you do not know the limit. More in Pressure washer adapters: M22, quick-connect and brand fittings

What adapter fits a Greenworks pressure washer?

Not established. We could not read Greenworks' adapter page, so its ends and models are unknown. Read your manual or ask Greenworks. More in Pressure washer adapters: M22, quick-connect and brand fittings

Why is my pressure washer hose connection leaking?

Usually the pairing or the seal. AR Blue Clean says M22 14 mm and 15 mm fittings share the same outside thread, so they can screw together and still not seal; a 14 mm stem in a 15 mm bore will leak. Otherwise, check for a damaged O-ring. More in A leaking fitting: wrong bore, worn O-ring or a hose to replace

Can I use Teflon tape on a pressure washer fitting?

Not to fix a leaking O-ring connection. Champion's manuals say never to repair leaking connections with sealant but to replace damaged O-rings, and Swagelok says straight threads seal with a gasket or O-ring, so sealant is not required or recommended on them. More in A leaking fitting: wrong bore, worn O-ring or a hose to replace

What size O-ring is in a pressure washer hose?

It varies by maker. Champion's 100384 parts list shows a 14 x 9 x 2.5 mm O-ring at the hose and wand connections, while ProPulse lists its consumer UberFlex O-rings as 14 mm OD x 10 mm ID x 2 mm. Get the size from your part's maker. More in A leaking fitting: wrong bore, worn O-ring or a hose to replace

Can I hold a leaking fitting to stop the spray?

No. Champion warns that leaking hoses and fittings can cause injection injury and that hoses and fittings should not be held. Shut down and relieve pressure first. More in A leaking fitting: wrong bore, worn O-ring or a hose to replace

Can I repair a leaking high-pressure hose?

No. Champion's manuals say never to repair a high-pressure hose but to replace it, and to stop using it at once if its outer cover is damaged. More in A leaking fitting: wrong bore, worn O-ring or a hose to replace

What size fittings are on a pressure washer?

There is no single size. The water inlet, pump outlet, hose ends, gun, wand and nozzle are separate joints, and each can use M22, a quick-connect, a pipe thread, a brand fitting or garden-hose thread. Read your manual joint by joint. More in Pressure washer fitting types explained

Are pressure washer fittings universal?

No. Each joint has its own standard, and even M22 comes with a 14 mm or 15 mm stem. Name the standard on both ends of any part you buy. More in Pressure washer fitting types explained

What is the difference between M22 and quick-connect?

M22 is a metric thread you screw together. A quick-connect is a plug pushed into a coupler and held by a sliding collar. Champion's 100386 uses a quick-connect at the pump outlet and an M22 coupler at the wand. More in Pressure washer fitting types explained

Can I use a garden-hose quick connect on the high-pressure side?

Not the Kärcher kit: Kärcher says its 2.645-221.0 garden-hose quick connect set is for the water inlet and cannot be used on the high-pressure outlet. More in Pressure washer fitting types explained

What is a live swivel?

A fitting built to rotate while the line is under pressure, so the hose can turn without twisting. A retailer listing for the Mosmatic DGV 32.557, for example, describes it as built for live rotation under full pressure. More in Live swivels and swivel fittings: what their ratings cover

Do I need a swivel on my pressure washer hose?

It is optional. Some guns build one in, such as the MTM Hydro SGS28 with its integrated stainless live swivel. If you add an inline one, its threads must match both neighbors and its rating must cover your machine. More in Live swivels and swivel fittings: what their ratings cover

What PSI is a swivel rated for?

It varies by model. One retailer lists the Mosmatic DGV 32.557 at 4,000 psi, 250°F and 30 rpm; that figure is the retailer's and applies to that variant only. More in Live swivels and swivel fittings: what their ratings cover

Is a swivel adapter the same as a live swivel?

Not necessarily. AR Blue Clean's PW554-B is a transfer adapter with a 15 mm M22 swivel inlet, sold to join a 14 mm female hose to a 15 mm male connection. A live swivel is rated to rotate under pressure; unless the maker says so, treat a swivel adapter as a connector only. More in Live swivels and swivel fittings: what their ratings cover

What size is a pressure washer water inlet?

Most take a garden hose. Dixon lists 3/4 in garden hose thread as 1.0625 in male outside diameter with 11-1/2 threads per inch. Some brands add their own inlet quick connect, so check your manual. More in Pressure washer water inlet fittings

Can I connect a pressure washer to hot water?

Not the machines in our sources. Sun Joe's SPX3000 manual limits inlet water to 104°F and says never to connect a hot water supply; Generac's manual requires water below 100°F. More in Pressure washer water inlet fittings

How long can my garden hose be?

Generac's manual says the supply hose must be no longer than 50 ft. Champion's 100384 manual asks for a 5/8 in or larger garden hose. Other makers may set other limits. More in Pressure washer water inlet fittings

What does the inlet filter do?

It screens the incoming water before the pump. Kärcher's no-pressure checks include removing and cleaning it, and Champion lists a clogged inlet filter as a cause of low or fluctuating pressure. More in Pressure washer water inlet fittings

Do these adapters fit other brands?

Each maker sells its kit for its own machines. An adapter can join any two parts whose ends match it, but check both ends and the rating; Cat Pumps advises that a system is only as strong as its weakest component. More in M22 and quick-connect adapters with both ends named

What if an adapter has no pressure rating?

Then you cannot know its limit. AR Blue Clean, for example, lists no pressure rating for its PW554-B adapter and tells buyers to check their hose's PSI rating instead. More in M22 and quick-connect adapters with both ends named

Are there adapters with a stated rating?

Yes. RYOBI rates its RY31QCK01 quick-connect kit for washers up to 4,000 PSI, and ECHO lists its M22 to 3/8 in kit for operation up to 4,000 PSI. More in M22 and quick-connect adapters with both ends named

How do I tell M22 14 mm from 15 mm?

AR Blue Clean recommends measuring the inner bore of the male M22 connection or checking the product documentation for the internal diameter. It gives no tolerance figure. More in Pressure washer fitting identifier

How do I know if a thread is tapered?

Dixon suggests measuring the diameter with calipers at both the start and the end of the threads. A tapered thread gets smaller along its length; a parallel one stays the same. More in Pressure washer fitting identifier

My measurement does not match the chart exactly. Is that wrong?

Not necessarily. Dixon notes that measured thread values may differ slightly from the values in its size charts, and Swagelok says its tables are identification aids, not inspection criteria. More in Pressure washer fitting identifier

Extension wands and lances

Will an extension wand fit my pressure washer?

Only if its inlet matches your gun's outlet and its rating covers your machine. Westinghouse lists the PWEXT for named ePX and WPX models, with a male M22-14 inlet and a 1/4 in quick-connect outlet. Check your model against the maker's list. More in Extension wands and lances

How long are extension wands?

Foam cannons

Will a foam cannon work on an electric pressure washer?

It has to connect and the machine maker has to allow its orifice. Active, for its Active 2.0 electric washer, says to use foam cannon orifices of 1.25 mm or larger, because a smaller one can cause excessive current draw. That advice is for the Active 2.0 only; check your own machine's manual. More in Foam cannons

Which orifice should I use?

The one the cannon maker installs or your machine maker specifies. MTM's PF22.2 ships with a 1.25 mm (size 3.5) orifice installed and a 1.1 mm (size 3.0) orifice in the kit, and MJJC's S V3.0 QC version comes with 1.25 mm installed and 1.1 mm included. More in Foam cannons

What is the difference between a foam cannon and a garden-hose foamer?

A foam cannon runs on the pressure washer's high-pressure outlet; a garden-hose foamer runs on low-pressure supply water. MTM Hydro sells them separately: its PF22.2 cannon is rated 1,100 to 5,000 PSI, and its GHF1 garden-hose foamer 145 PSI. More in Foam cannons

Will a foam cannon fit my electric pressure washer?

If your wand ends in a 1/4 in quick-connect, a 1/4 in quick-connect version attaches. If your machine uses a brand fitting such as Kärcher's, buy the version for that brand; MJJC sells separate connector versions for Kärcher K, AVA, Nilfisk/Gerni/Stihl, Bosch/Black+Decker and Lavor/Parkside. More in Foam cannon connections: 1/4 in quick-connect or a brand fitting

What is the difference between a foam cannon and a foam gun?

Do I need an adapter for a foam cannon on a Kärcher?

Not if you buy a Kärcher version: MJJC sells one for Kärcher K machines. Kärcher says nozzles go on the wand, not directly on its VersaGRIP or Standard gun, so check whether the cannon mounts on the gun or the wand. More in Foam cannon connections: 1/4 in quick-connect or a brand fitting

Does MJJC sell on Amazon or AliExpress?

MJJC's Where to Buy page points to a country distributor list and does not mention Amazon or AliExpress. We could not tie any AliExpress store to MJJC from its own site. More in Foam cannon connections: 1/4 in quick-connect or a brand fitting

Can I order from MJJC directly in Canada?

MJJC's FAQ lists the United States, the UK, the European Union and Turkey as destinations for its own store; Canada is not on that list. More in Foam cannon connections: 1/4 in quick-connect or a brand fitting

Should I use the 1.1 mm orifice on an electric pressure washer?

Only if your machine's maker allows it. Active says its Active 2.0 needs foam cannon orifices of 1.25 mm or larger, because a smaller one can cause excessive current draw that may damage the motor. That is Active's rule for its own machine; check your maker's guidance. More in Foam cannon orifices: 1.1 vs 1.25 mm and electric washers

What orifice comes with a foam cannon?

It depends on the model. MJJC's S V3.0 (QRFLSV3) and MTM Hydro's PF22.2 both ship with a 1.25 mm orifice installed and a 1.1 mm orifice in the box. More in Foam cannon orifices: 1.1 vs 1.25 mm and electric washers

Is a foam cannon orifice the same as a nozzle size?

MTM Hydro labels them that way: its 1.25 mm orifice as size 3.5 and its 1.1 mm as size 3.0. Nozzle size numbers are flow in GPM at 4,000 PSI, per Cat Pumps. More in Foam cannon orifices: 1.1 vs 1.25 mm and electric washers

What pressure is a foam cannon rated for?

Per model. MTM Hydro's foam-cannon page lists the PF22.2 at 1,100 to 5,000 PSI. Keep your machine's pressure inside the cannon's rating. More in Foam cannon orifices: 1.1 vs 1.25 mm and electric washers

High-pressure hoses and reels

Are pressure washer hoses universal?

No. Hoses come with different end fittings, such as M22 threads with a 14 mm or 15 mm stem or 3/8 in quick-connect plugs and sockets. SIMPSON's MSH3125 hose has M22 male by M22 female ends, while SIMPSON's Monster Hose 41028 has a 3/8 in QC plug and socket. Name the standard on both ends before you buy. More in High-pressure hoses and reels

What PSI hose do I need?

One whose working pressure meets or exceeds your machine's maximum pressure rating. Generac's manual says to replace a damaged hose with one that meets or exceeds the unit's maximum pressure rating. Compare working pressure, not burst pressure. More in High-pressure hoses and reels

Is a 3/8 in hose better than 1/4 in?

A wider hose loses less pressure over its length. Cat Pumps' table shows about 180 PSI lost per 100 ft at 2 GPM in 1/4 in hose against 25 PSI in 3/8 in hose. A wider hose still has to have the right ends and rating for your machine. More in High-pressure hoses and reels

Can I join two hoses?

Only with fittings that match both hoses and ratings that cover the machine, because a system is only as strong as its weakest part. Some makers sell hoses as extensions: Sun Joe lists its SPX-25HD as an extension hose with male and female M22 threads. More in High-pressure hoses and reels

Can I put any hose on my pressure washer?

No. Both ends must match your pump outlet and gun, and the rating must cover your machine. Some makers go further: Sun Joe's SPX3000 manual says to use only hoses the maker recommends and to contact Sun Joe if unsure. More in How to choose a replacement pressure washer hose

What PSI hose do I need?

One rated at or above your machine's maximum pressure. Generac's manual says to replace a damaged hose with one that meets or exceeds the unit's maximum pressure rating. Compare working pressure, not burst pressure. More in How to choose a replacement pressure washer hose

Can I replace a Kärcher hose with a non-Kärcher hose?

Kärcher's bayonet gun-and-hose kit uses a Kärcher-specific hose quick connect, and Kärcher says the kit is not for other brands. Its hose finder lists Kärcher hoses per model; start there. More in How to choose a replacement pressure washer hose

Can I repair a damaged hose instead?

No. Champion's manual says never repair a high-pressure hose; replace it. More in How to choose a replacement pressure washer hose

Is a 3/8 hose better than 1/4?

It loses less pressure. At 2 GPM, Cat Pumps' table lists about 180 PSI lost per 100 ft of 1/4 in hose and about 25 PSI for 3/8 in. It only fits if its end fittings match your machine and gun. More in Pressure washer hose diameter and length

Does a longer pressure washer hose reduce pressure?

Yes. Cat Pumps notes that hose pressure drop scales with length at a fixed flow, so a 50 ft hose loses half as much as a 100 ft hose of the same size. More in Pressure washer hose diameter and length

How long can a pressure washer hose be?

Some makers set a limit for their machine: Active says no longer than 100 ft for the Active 2.0. Otherwise, longer simply means more loss; check your manual. More in Pressure washer hose diameter and length

Will a 3/8 hose fit my M22 machine?

Only if its ends do. Diameter and end fitting are separate specs: SIMPSON's 3/8 in 41028 has quick-connect ends, while SIMPSON's MSH3125 ships a 1/4 in hose with M22 ends. More in Pressure washer hose diameter and length

What is the difference between working pressure and burst pressure?

Working pressure is the rating you use. Burst pressure is the point of failure and is far higher: ProPulse states a minimum burst of three times working pressure for its UberFlex. Never compare a burst figure with your machine's output. More in Pressure washer hose PSI and temperature ratings

Can I use a 3,100 PSI hose on a 3,200 PSI pressure washer?

No. Generac's manual says a replacement hose must meet or exceed the unit's maximum pressure rating. A 3,100 PSI hose is below a 3,200 PSI machine. More in Pressure washer hose PSI and temperature ratings

Can a cold-water hose take hot water?

No. SIMPSON rates its MorFlex 40226 as a cold-water hose to 140°F, and ProPulse marks the UberFlex not for hot water or steam. Many machines also limit inlet water, such as Sun Joe's 104°F on the SPX3000. More in Pressure washer hose PSI and temperature ratings

Does a higher-rated hose increase pressure?

No. A rating is a limit the hose can take, not an output. Your pump makes the pressure; a wider, shorter hose only loses less of it. More in Pressure washer hose PSI and temperature ratings

Can I use a garden hose reel for a pressure washer hose?

Not one that carries the water unless it is rated for your machine. Reelcraft's 5635 OLPSW5 pre-rinse reel, for example, is rated only 125 psi and 180°F, far below pressure-washer output. More in Pressure washer hose reel ratings

What PSI should a pressure washer hose reel be rated for?

At least your machine's maximum, like every other part in the chain. Reelcraft rates its PW81000 OHP to 5,000 PSI; Coxreels' pressure-wash series run from 3,000 to 5,000 PSI depending on the series. More in Pressure washer hose reel ratings

Does a hose reel reduce pressure?

Hose length does: Cat Pumps notes loss scales with length, so 100 ft loses twice what 50 ft does. No source we read gives a separate loss figure for the reel itself. More in Pressure washer hose reel ratings

What is a pressure washer injection injury?

A wound where the spray penetrates the skin. Sun Joe's SPX3000 manual warns it can cause serious injury and says to seek medical aid immediately, and the CDC says such wounds may first look minor. More in Injection injuries, damaged hoses and depressurizing first

When should I replace a pressure washer hose?

As soon as it is damaged. Generac says to inspect high-pressure hoses before each use for cuts, leaks, abrasions, bulging and coupling damage, and to replace a damaged hose with one that meets or exceeds the unit's maximum pressure rating. Champion says to stop using a hose whose outer cover is damaged. More in Injection injuries, damaged hoses and depressurizing first

How do I release pressure before disconnecting?

Champion's 100384 manual says to engage the trigger lock, turn the unit off, shut off the water, then release the latch and squeeze the trigger. Generac notes the gun traps high-pressure water even with the engine stopped and the water disconnected. More in Injection injuries, damaged hoses and depressurizing first

Can I use a gas pressure washer in a garage?

No. The CDC says gasoline-powered pressure washers can cause carbon monoxide poisoning and should never be used in an enclosed space or less than 20 feet from any window, door or vent. More in Injection injuries, damaged hoses and depressurizing first

Is a steel-braided hose better?

Not by that word alone. The rating is what you compare. Some makers ask for it: Active says replacement hoses for the Active 2.0 should be steel-braided rubber. Otherwise, choose by working pressure, temperature and ends first. More in Wire braid vs textile braid pressure washer hoses

What does non-marking mean on a hose?

It is the maker's description of the cover. SIMPSON calls the MorFlex 40226 cover non-marking, and ProPulse calls the UberFlex truly non-marking. Neither is a promise for every surface or coating. More in Wire braid vs textile braid pressure washer hoses

Are kink-resistant hoses safer?

No source we read rates kink resistance. Champion says a kinked or damaged hose can leak and cause injection injury, and to replace a hose with a damaged cover immediately. Inspect the hose, whatever it is made of. More in Wire braid vs textile braid pressure washer hoses

Which of these fits an M22 machine?

Flexzilla's HFZPW3425M and SIMPSON's MorFlex 40226 have M22 ends. Flexzilla states a 14 mm stem; SIMPSON does not state the bore, so check your machine. The two SIMPSON 3/8 in hoses have quick-connect ends. More in Replacement pressure washer hoses with stated ends and ratings

Can I use a higher-rated hose than my machine needs?

Yes, if the ends fit. Generac's manual says a replacement hose must meet or exceed the unit's maximum pressure rating; a higher rating is a limit, not a fit. More in Replacement pressure washer hoses with stated ends and ratings

Why are there no hoses rated for my machine's burst pressure?

Burst pressure is not the figure to compare. Flexzilla gives working pressure only, and ProPulse states burst separately as a ratio of working pressure; use working pressure. More in Replacement pressure washer hoses with stated ends and ratings

Identifying and buying

How do I find my pressure washer's model number?

On the machine's label. RYOBI's support site, for example, looks up manuals, parts and repair information by the model number found at the top left of the label. With it you can read the manual for your exact model. More in Identifying and buying

Does a part rated 4,000 PSI work on a 3,000 PSI machine?

A higher rating is a limit, not a fit. The part also has to connect: its ends must match your hose, gun or wand. Cat Pumps advises that a system is only as strong as its weakest component, so check every part in the line. More in Identifying and buying

Are AliExpress pressure washer parts returnable?

Only some. AliExpress's Free Returns terms apply only to items showing a Free Returns icon and to registered buyers who meet its requirements, not to every item. Check the listing before you order. More in Identifying and buying

Is my pressure washer recalled?

Check CPSC (US) or Health Canada by your exact model and serial number. CPSC's RYOBI recall 25-452, for example, covers three models within specified serial ranges. The recalls guide explains how to check. More in Identifying and buying

Do I pay duty on pressure washer parts from the US or China?

You may. The Canada Border Services Agency says online purchases may ship from another country and may be subject to duties, taxes and administrative fees. Some courier goods are exempt at low values, with conditions. More in Buying pressure washer parts in Canada

Who charges the brokerage fee?

The courier or customs broker, not the government. CBSA says courier and broker clearance fees are a private business-to-consumer charge outside its control and separate from duties and taxes. More in Buying pressure washer parts in Canada

What certification mark should a pressure washer have in Canada?

For a plug-in machine, Health Canada advises not buying plug-in electrical products online without a Canadian electrical certification mark such as CSA, cUL or cETL. That advice is about powered products, not hoses or fittings. More in Buying pressure washer parts in Canada

If I return a part to a US seller, do I get the duty back?

Possibly the duty and tax, never the brokerage. CBSA lists goods returned to a seller outside Canada as a possible reason for a duty and tax refund, with conditions, but says it cannot refund brokerage or courier fees. More in Buying pressure washer parts in Canada

Are pressure washer parts on AliExpress genuine?

Check the store against the maker's own site. On the maker pages we read for SIMPSON, Flexzilla, ProPulse, MTM Hydro, Suttner, McKillans, YAMATIC and M MINGLE, we found no link to an AliExpress store, which is not proof either way. MJJC's Where to Buy page points to distributors and mentions neither Amazon nor AliExpress. More in Buying hoses, guns and adapters on Amazon and AliExpress

Can I return a pressure washer adapter bought on AliExpress?

Only if the listing shows AliExpress's Free Returns icon and you meet its terms. The window depends on the seller's location, and the item must meet AliExpress's intactness standards. More in Buying hoses, guns and adapters on Amazon and AliExpress

Does a third-party part void my warranty?

It can affect coverage. Champion's two-year limited warranty for the 100384, for example, excludes accessory parts such as hoses, nozzles, wands and guns, and problems caused by parts that are not original Champion parts. Read your own machine's warranty. More in Buying hoses, guns and adapters on Amazon and AliExpress

What is Amazon's return window for these parts?

We could not read Amazon's return policy page for these parts, so we do not state one. Check the return terms shown on the listing and at checkout. More in Buying hoses, guns and adapters on Amazon and AliExpress

How do I know what fittings my pressure washer has?

Read the manual or parts list for your exact model, joint by joint. Champion's 100386 manual, for example, names a 3/8 quick coupler at the pump outlet and an M22 coupler between gun and wand. Where the manual names nothing, identify the fitting on a disconnected, depressurized part. More in Identify your pressure washer's connections

Where is the model number?

On the machine's label. RYOBI's support site, for example, says the model number is at the top left of the label and uses it to look up manuals, parts and repair information. More in Identify your pressure washer's connections

What if my manual does not say M22 14 or 15 mm?

Measure it. AR Blue Clean recommends measuring the inner bore of the male M22 connection, or checking the product documentation for the internal diameter. Many manuals, such as Champion's for the 100386, say M22 without the bore. More in Identify your pressure washer's connections

Does the brand tell me the fitting?

No. Generac's support statement, for example, separates its consumer and professional series, and Kärcher's hose finder matches hoses model by model with exceptions. Go by the exact model. More in Identify your pressure washer's connections

What is the difference between max PSI and rated PSI?

Maximum is the headline figure; rated is what the machine delivers working. Sun Joe's SPX3000 manual lists 2,030 PSI and 1.76 GPM maximum, and 1,450 PSI and 1.24 GPM rated working output. More in Max vs rated PSI and GPM

Is GPM or PSI more important?

We do not rank them. Both decide your nozzle size through the formula Cat Pumps and General Pump publish, and both have to sit within every accessory's limits. More in Max vs rated PSI and GPM

How do I convert bar to PSI?

NIST lists one bar as exactly 100,000 pascals and one psi as 6,894.757 pascals, so one bar is about 14.5 psi (our arithmetic). Multiply bar by 14.5 for an approximate PSI. More in Max vs rated PSI and GPM

Is a hose's burst pressure its rating?

No. Working pressure and burst pressure are different fields. ProPulse states a minimum burst of three times working pressure for its consumer UberFlex hose, and the working pressure is the figure to compare with your machine. More in Max vs rated PSI and GPM

Is my RYOBI pressure washer recalled?

Check the model and serial number on the motor-housing data plate against CPSC's notice. Recall 25-452 covers RYOBI models RY142300, RY142300VNM and RY142711VNM within specified serial-number ranges; other models are not named in it. More in Pressure washer recalls, UL 1776 and ETL

What does UL 1776 cover?

UL 1776, High-Pressure Cleaning Machines, covers portable, stationary and fixed high-pressure cleaning machines with a hand-held discharge line for household, farm and commercial use, and portable rechargeable battery-powered machines. It excludes products that produce steam in a heated vessel or use an external steam source. More in Pressure washer recalls, UL 1776 and ETL

How do I check an ETL listing?

In Intertek's online directory. Intertek describes its ETL Listed Mark as proof of compliance with North American safety standards and offers a directory to check products that carry its marks. More in Pressure washer recalls, UL 1776 and ETL

Does a UL or ETL mark on my machine cover a new hose?

No. A machine standard concerns the machine; it does not certify an aftermarket hose or fitting. Check each part's own rating against your machine. More in Pressure washer recalls, UL 1776 and ETL

My pressure washer is not in the finder. What now?

Find the exact model number on the label and read that model's manual or parts list for each joint. Where the manual names no fitting, identify it on a disconnected, depressurized part with the fitting identifier. More in Pressure washer connection finder

Why does the Sun Joe SPX3000 show Not confirmed for its fittings?

The SPX3000 manual (revision MR12) lists the hose, gun, wand and five quick-connect nozzles but names no thread or bore for the hose or gun. We do not fill that gap from listings. More in Pressure washer connection finder

What does Not confirmed mean?

No maker source we read states that value. It does not mean the value is wrong or missing from the machine, only that we could not confirm it from the maker's own documents. More in Pressure washer connection finder

Nozzle tips and turbo nozzles

What do the numbers on a nozzle mean?

Cat Pumps says both the nozzle number and the spray angle are stamped on a nozzle, so a '4-25' nozzle is size 4 with a 25-degree fan. The size number equals the nozzle's flow in GPM at 4,000 PSI. More in Nozzle tips and turbo nozzles

Do nozzle colors mean the same size on every brand?

No. Colors are maker conventions for spray angle, not flow size. Generac names its tips by color and gives no degree values, while Westinghouse's PWEXT kit maps red to 0, yellow to 15, green to 25, white to 40 and black to 65 degrees. Read the stamped size. More in Nozzle tips and turbo nozzles

What size nozzle for my pressure washer?

Use the formula Cat Pumps and General Pump publish: nozzle number = GPM x the square root of (4,000 / PSI), with your machine's rated, paired PSI and GPM. The nozzle size finder shows a worked example. More in Nozzle tips and turbo nozzles

When should I replace nozzles?

When pressure drops: Cat Pumps says worn nozzles are the most frequent cause of low pressure and the fix is to replace them with the proper size. Never adjust the pressure regulating valve to make up for a worn nozzle. More in Nozzle tips and turbo nozzles

What size nozzle do I need for a 1.2 GPM pressure washer?

It depends on the rated pressure that goes with that 1.2 GPM. With the formula Cat Pumps and General Pump publish, 1.2 GPM at 2,000 PSI works out to about size 1.7, and 1.2 GPM at 2,300 PSI to about size 1.6. Start from the size your machine's maker sells closest to that number. More in Which nozzle size fits your machine's PSI and GPM

Should I use max or rated GPM?

Use the rated pair when the maker gives both. Cat Pumps and General Pump say to use paired working values, and makers such as Sun Joe and Westinghouse list maximum figures that are not the working point. More in Which nozzle size fits your machine's PSI and GPM

What happens if the nozzle is too big?

The same flow passes through a larger hole at lower pressure. A size 4 nozzle flows about 4.00 GPM at 4,000 PSI but only about 2.83 GPM at 2,000 PSI on General Pump's chart, so a machine with far less flow cannot build its rated pressure through it. More in Which nozzle size fits your machine's PSI and GPM

What happens if the nozzle is too small or clogged?

Generac's manual links a pulsing trigger to excessive pump pressure, typically from a clogged or restricted nozzle. Cat Pumps also says to verify that the pump's rated flow and pressure suit the nozzle. More in Which nozzle size fits your machine's PSI and GPM

Can I turn up the pressure to make up for a worn nozzle?

No. Cat Pumps warns never to adjust the pressure regulating valve to compensate for worn nozzles, because it can over-pressurize and damage the pump. Replace the nozzle with the proper size. More in Which nozzle size fits your machine's PSI and GPM

Why did my pressure washer lose pressure?

Cat Pumps names worn nozzles as the most frequent cause of low pressure. Champion's manual also lists a restricted water supply, a garden hose that is too small, a clogged inlet filter and an obstructed nozzle. More in Low or pulsing pressure: nozzles, inlet filter and supply first

Why does my pressure washer pulse?

Generac's manual says a pulsing felt when squeezing the trigger may come from excessive pump pressure, typically caused by a clogged or restricted nozzle, and gives a nozzle-cleaning procedure. Champion lists fluctuating pressure under supply problems too. More in Low or pulsing pressure: nozzles, inlet filter and supply first

Can I turn up the unloader to get my pressure back?

No. Cat Pumps warns never to adjust the pressure regulating valve to compensate for worn nozzles, because it can over-pressurize and damage the pump. Replace the nozzle with the proper size. More in Low or pulsing pressure: nozzles, inlet filter and supply first

Can I connect my pressure washer to hot water to fix weak cleaning?

Not unless the maker allows it. Sun Joe's SPX3000 manual limits inlet water to 104°F and Generac's manual requires a supply below 100°F. More in Low or pulsing pressure: nozzles, inlet filter and supply first

What is the red nozzle for?

In Generac's manual, red is the 'blast' tip, and in Westinghouse's PWEXT kit red is the 0-degree tip. Colors are each maker's own scheme, so check your manual. More in 0, 15, 25, 40 degrees and soap: nozzle colors and angles

Which nozzle is for soap?

The low-pressure soap tip, which Generac colors black and calls detergent. Generac says detergent cannot be applied with the high-pressure tips. More in 0, 15, 25, 40 degrees and soap: nozzle colors and angles

Is a 0-degree nozzle dangerous?

Any tip can injure. The CDC warns that spray can cause serious wounds that may first look minor and can throw objects at people nearby, and says never to point a pressure washer at yourself or others. More in 0, 15, 25, 40 degrees and soap: nozzle colors and angles

Does the color tell me the nozzle size?

No. Cat Pumps says the size number and the angle are both stamped on the nozzle; the color is a maker's marking for the angle. Read the stamp to know the size. More in 0, 15, 25, 40 degrees and soap: nozzle colors and angles

What do the numbers on a pressure washer nozzle mean?

Cat Pumps says two figures are stamped on a nozzle: the size number and the spray angle. A '4-25' is size 4 with a 25-degree fan, and the size number is the nozzle's flow in GPM at 4,000 PSI. More in Pressure washer nozzle sizes: the orifice number, not the color

Are all red nozzles the same?

No. Color is a maker's naming convention for the spray angle, not the size. Two red tips from sets in different sizes pass different flows at the same pressure, so read the size number instead. More in Pressure washer nozzle sizes: the orifice number, not the color

Does a 15-degree nozzle use more water than a 40-degree one?

No. Cat Pumps states that spray angle does not affect nozzle flow; flow depends on the nozzle size and the pressure. More in Pressure washer nozzle sizes: the orifice number, not the color

What size nozzle came with my machine?

Read the number stamped on the tip or look in the manual's parts list. Some makers state it plainly, as Active does for the size 3.7 tips on its Active 2.0; others list part codes without explaining them. More in Pressure washer nozzle sizes: the orifice number, not the color

Do turbo nozzles come in sizes?

Yes. DEWALT sells its DXPA34TN turbo nozzle in orifice size 3.0 rated to 3,400 PSI and its DXPA45TN in size 4.0 rated to 4,500 PSI. More in Turbo and rotating nozzles: orifice size and rated range

Will a 4,500 PSI turbo nozzle work on a 2,000 PSI machine?

The 4,500 PSI figure is a ceiling, not a target, so it is not the problem. The orifice size is: with the formula Cat Pumps and General Pump publish, a machine rated 2,000 PSI at 1.2 GPM works out near size 1.7, far below a size 4.0 nozzle. Choose a turbo nozzle sized for your flow. More in Turbo and rotating nozzles: orifice size and rated range

Can I use a turbo nozzle with hot water?

Not the DEWALT ones: DEWALT lists the DXPA45TN as designed for cold water and the DXPA34TN for cold water only. Check the temperature rating of the exact nozzle you buy. More in Turbo and rotating nozzles: orifice size and rated range

What connector does a turbo nozzle use?

Consumer turbo nozzles like DEWALT's use a 1/4 in quick-connect. Industrial families differ: Cat Pumps lists threaded inlets such as 1/4 NPT(F) on its 7616 rotating nozzles. More in Turbo and rotating nozzles: orifice size and rated range

Which size set do I need?

The size your machine's rated PSI and GPM give in the formula nozzle number = GPM x the square root of (4,000 / PSI), which Cat Pumps and General Pump publish. The nozzle size finder works an example. More in Nozzle tip sets and turbo nozzles with the orifice size stated

Why buy a set in one size?

Because every tip in a set shares the size, and the angle does not change the flow. Cat Pumps states that spray angle does not affect nozzle flow. More in Nozzle tip sets and turbo nozzles with the orifice size stated

Should I replace all my tips at once?

Replace worn tips with the same size. Cat Pumps says worn nozzles are the most frequent cause of low pressure and the fix is to replace them with the proper size. More in Nozzle tip sets and turbo nozzles with the orifice size stated

Which PSI and GPM do I put in the formula?

Your machine's rated, paired working figures, not the headline maximums. Cat Pumps and General Pump note the formula takes flow at that pressure; Sun Joe's SPX3000 manual, for example, lists 1,450 PSI at 1.24 GPM as rated working output. More in Nozzle size finder

Does a 40-degree tip need a different size than a 15-degree tip?

Not for flow. Cat Pumps states that spray angle does not affect nozzle flow; the flow depends on the nozzle size and the pressure. A set's tips share one size. More in Nozzle size finder

My pressure is low. Should I go up or down a size?

First check for wear. Cat Pumps says worn nozzles are the most frequent cause of low pressure and the fix is to replace them with the proper size, and warns never to adjust the pressure regulating valve to make up for them. More in Nozzle size finder

Surface cleaners

Do surface cleaners work on electric pressure washers?

Compare the cleaner's stated range with your machine's rated output. SIMPSON listed its 80165 from a minimum of 2,200 PSI and 2.3 GPM, while Sun Joe rates the SPX3000 at 1,450 PSI and 1.24 GPM working output, below that minimum. RYOBI sells a 12 in, 2,300 PSI cleaner instead. More in Surface cleaners

What size surface cleaner should I get?

Pick the deck size after the inlet and the PSI and GPM range fit. Makers sell 12 in (RYOBI RY31SC12), 15 in (SIMPSON 80165), 18 in (DEWALT DXPA34SC) and 20 in (BE 85.403.007) models, each with its own rating. We found no source that ties a deck size to a machine output. More in Surface cleaners

How does a surface cleaner attach?

By a quick-connect on its inlet, usually where a nozzle would go. RYOBI's RY31SC12 and DEWALT's DXPA34SC attach with a 1/4 in quick connect, while BE's 20 in model uses a 3/8 in quick connect. More in Surface cleaners

What size surface cleaner do I need?

The size whose stated PSI and GPM range your machine's rated output meets. Width comes second: a deck your machine cannot supply is the wrong size however much area it covers. More in 12, 15, 18 or 20 inch surface cleaners: what the makers list

Is a 20-inch surface cleaner too big for an electric pressure washer?

Compare the ratings. BE's 20 in 85.403.007 connects with a 3/8 in quick-connect and BE publishes no clear operating range, while Kärcher puts its residential machines at 1.25 to 2.5 GPM. Without a stated minimum from the cleaner's maker, the fit cannot be confirmed. More in 12, 15, 18 or 20 inch surface cleaners: what the makers list

Steel or plastic surface cleaner housing?

Makers state the material and nothing more. SIMPSON describes a powder-coated steel shroud on its 80165, and BE specifies an ABS polymer housing on its 85.403.007. Neither tells you about the rotating joint or other pressure-bearing parts. More in 12, 15, 18 or 20 inch surface cleaners: what the makers list

How many jets does a surface cleaner have?

The ones we read have two. SIMPSON's 80165 has two rotating jets with stainless steel nozzles, DEWALT's DXPA34SC has two rotating jets, and BE's 85.403.007 ships with two 25-degree size 020 nozzles. More in 12, 15, 18 or 20 inch surface cleaners: what the makers list

Will a surface cleaner work with an electric pressure washer?

Only if your machine's rated output meets the cleaner's stated minimum. SIMPSON listed its 80165 from 2,200 PSI and 2.3 GPM, while Sun Joe rates the SPX3000 at 1.24 GPM and Westinghouse the ePX3500 at 1.2 GPM. Compare the numbers for your own machine. More in Surface cleaner fit: inlet, PSI and GPM range, cold water

What PSI do I need for a surface cleaner?

The range the cleaner's maker states. RYOBI lists its RY31SC12 at 2,300 PSI, DEWALT its DXPA34SC up to 3,400 PSI, and SIMPSON listed the 80165 from 2,200 to 3,700 PSI. Some makers state no minimum or no GPM at all. More in Surface cleaner fit: inlet, PSI and GPM range, cold water

Can a 1/4 in surface cleaner go on a 3/8 in hose?

It attaches where its inlet matches, which is usually the 1/4 in quick-connect at the end of the wand, not the hose. DEWALT's DXPA31SW wand, for example, has a 1/4 in quick-connect outlet for tips. More in Surface cleaner fit: inlet, PSI and GPM range, cold water

Can I run hot water through a surface cleaner?

Only one rated for it, on a machine built for it. DEWALT's DXPA34SC is for cold water only; BE rates its 85.403.007 to 180°F. More in Surface cleaner fit: inlet, PSI and GPM range, cold water

How do I know if a surface cleaner suits my machine?

Compare the cleaner's stated range with your machine's rated output. SIMPSON listed its 80165 from a minimum of 2,200 PSI and 2.3 GPM, so a machine rated below that sits outside SIMPSON's range. More in Surface cleaners with a stated inlet and pressure range

What if a maker lists no GPM?

Then the flow fit cannot be confirmed from the maker. DEWALT, for example, lists no minimum or maximum GPM for its DXPA34SC. More in Surface cleaners with a stated inlet and pressure range

Why is no figure shown for these three?

We publish a figure only after checking it for our fact register. Until that check is done for these part numbers, read the range on each maker's page. More in Surface cleaners with a stated inlet and pressure range

Trigger guns and short guns

Will any pressure washer gun fit my machine?

No. Guns differ at both ends. SIMPSON's MSH3125 gun is M22 male by M22 female, many Suttner guns have a 3/8 in FPT inlet and 1/4 in FPT outlet, and Kärcher says its bayonet guns do not fit other brands. Match the gun's inlet to your hose and its outlet to your wand. More in Trigger guns and short guns

What is a short gun?

A trigger gun used without a long wand, so the nozzle sits close to the hand. Whether a gun can work that way depends on its outlet: McKillans lists its swivel gun with a 1/4 in female quick-connect outlet, while Kärcher says its VersaGRIP and Standard guns need a wand before any nozzle. More in Trigger guns and short guns

Can I put a nozzle straight on a Kärcher gun?

No. Kärcher states that a nozzle cannot be connected directly to its VersaGRIP or Standard trigger gun: the spray wand goes on the gun first and the nozzle goes on the wand. More in Trigger guns and short guns

What does 3/8 FPT inlet mean?

A female pipe thread of 3/8 in nominal size at the gun's inlet. Suttner lists most of its guns with a 3/8 in FPT inlet and 1/4 in FPT outlet. These are pipe-thread ports, not M22, so a consumer M22 hose needs suitable fittings. More in Trigger guns and short guns

Will a Kärcher gun fit my K5 with a hose reel?

Not the gun-and-hose kit: Kärcher says it does not fit models with hose reels. Kärcher lists the standalone Bayonet Spray Gun 2.642-889.0 for reel models too. Check your exact model in Kärcher's finder. More in Kärcher bayonet gun and hose kits

Will a Kärcher gun fit a non-Kärcher pressure washer?

Not a bayonet gun: Kärcher says they are not compatible with other brands. Its VersaGRIP and Standard M22 guns are listed for other brands with Quick Connect or M22 connections rated 4,000 PSI or less. More in Kärcher bayonet gun and hose kits

Is 2.643-910.0 the same as 2.644-343.0?

Kärcher's own pages conflict. The product page calls 2.643-910.0 the Bayonet Spray Gun and Hose Kit, while the spray-gun finder lists the bayonet kit as 2.644-343.0. We do not treat them as interchangeable; confirm with Kärcher. More in Kärcher bayonet gun and hose kits

Does the K1700 use the bayonet?

Kärcher's K1700 page says it uses standard M22 hose connections and quick-connect nozzles, and the bayonet gun-and-hose kit excludes the K1700 to K2000 electrics. The page states no M22 stem size. More in Kärcher bayonet gun and hose kits

Are pressure washer guns universal?

No. Guns differ at the inlet (M22, quick-connect or 3/8 in FPT), at the outlet (M22, 1/4 in FPT, 1/4 in QC or a brand bayonet) and in rating. Kärcher, for example, lists its M22 guns only for machines rated 4,000 PSI or less. More in Choosing a replacement pressure washer trigger gun

What size is a pressure washer gun inlet?

It depends on the gun. SIMPSON's MSH3125 OEM gun is M22 male x M22 female; Suttner's guns mostly have a 3/8 in FPT inlet; McKillans' swivel gun has a 3/8 in male inlet. Read your gun's own spec. More in Choosing a replacement pressure washer trigger gun

Can I use a 4,000 PSI gun on a 4,400 PSI machine?

No. Every part must be rated at or above the machine's maximum, the same rule Generac's manual applies to hoses, and Cat Pumps says the system is only as strong as its weakest component. More in Choosing a replacement pressure washer trigger gun

What is a low trigger force gun?

A gun designed to need less finger force to hold open. Suttner says its LTF guns such as the ST-2600 need 90% less holding force and 40% less trigger force than typical guns; that is Suttner's claim, not an independent measurement. More in Choosing a replacement pressure washer trigger gun

Can I put a foam cannon on a short gun?

Only if the gun's outlet is the connection the foam cannon uses, usually a 1/4 in quick-connect. McKillans' swivel gun has a 1/4 in female quick-connect outlet; a gun with an M22 outlet needs a wand or an adapter named for both ends first. More in Short pressure washer gun vs gun and wand

Do I need a wand on my pressure washer gun?

If its outlet is M22 or a bayonet, yes. Kärcher says a nozzle cannot go directly on its VersaGRIP or Standard gun, and DEWALT's DXPA45SG has an M22 wand outlet. More in Short pressure washer gun vs gun and wand

What outlet does a short gun need?

The one your nozzles use. In the parts we read, nozzles and attachments clip into a 1/4 in quick-connect, as on McKillans' swivel gun. A 1/4 in FPT outlet, as on MTM's SGS28, needs a quick-connect fitting screwed in. More in Short pressure washer gun vs gun and wand

Will the Kärcher M22 gun fit a non-Kärcher machine?

Kärcher says other-brand machines need Quick Connect or M22 connections and must be rated 4,000 PSI or less. It does not state the M22 bore, so check your hose's end. More in Replacement pressure washer guns with stated inlet, outlet and rating

Why do you not list the SIMPSON guns' ratings?

We publish a figure only after checking it against the maker's page for our fact register. Until that check is done for these part numbers, read the ratings on SIMPSON's own pages. More in Replacement pressure washer guns with stated inlet, outlet and rating

Do I need a gun with a trigger lock?

Use a gun whose lock works. Champion's manual says never to use a spray gun with a damaged or altered trigger lock. More in Replacement pressure washer guns with stated inlet, outlet and rating

Pressure washers

Is the Sun Joe SPX3000 hose M22 14 mm or 15 mm?

The MR12 manual does not say. It lists a 20 ft hose but names no thread or bore, so measure the inner bore of the male fitting on a disconnected, depressurized part, as AR Blue Clean describes, or ask Sun Joe. See M22 14 mm vs 15 mm. More in Sun Joe SPX3000 (manual MR12)

Which PSI and GPM should I use for nozzles on the SPX3000?

Use the rated pair, 1,450 PSI at 1.24 GPM. With the formula Cat Pumps and General Pump publish, that pair works out to about nozzle size 2.1 (calculated, not a Sun Joe figure). More in Sun Joe SPX3000 (manual MR12)

Can I run hot water through the SPX3000?

No. The MR12 manual limits inlet water to 104°F (40°C) and says the machine must never be connected to a hot water supply. More in Sun Joe SPX3000 (manual MR12)

Is the ePX3500 hose connection M22 14 mm or 15 mm?

Westinghouse's spec table says 'M22 Quick-Connect' and gives no bore. Its PWEXT wand manual labels that wand's inlet 'M22x1.5 - 14mm', but that describes the wand, not the ePX3500's own hose ends. More in Westinghouse ePX3500

Which PSI and GPM should I use for nozzles on the ePX3500?

Use the rated pair, 2,000 PSI at 1.2 GPM. With the formula Cat Pumps and General Pump publish, it works out to about nozzle size 1.7 (calculated, not a Westinghouse figure). See nozzle size for your machine. More in Westinghouse ePX3500

Does the Westinghouse PWEXT extension wand fit the ePX3500?

Westinghouse lists the ePX3500 among the PWEXT's compatible washers. The wand is rated to 4,000 PSI, above the ePX3500's 2,500 PSI maximum. More in Westinghouse ePX3500

What hose does the Westinghouse WPX3200 come with?

Westinghouse lists a 25 ft, 5/16 in high-pressure hose with M22 quick-connect connectors. It gives no rating for that hose, so a replacement should be rated at or above the machine's 3,200 PSI; Cat Pumps notes a system is only as strong as its weakest component. More in Westinghouse WPX3200

Does the Westinghouse PWEXT extension wand fit the WPX3200?

Westinghouse lists the WPX3200 among the PWEXT's compatible washers. The wand is rated to 4,000 PSI, above the WPX3200's 3,200 PSI. More in Westinghouse WPX3200

Is 3,200 PSI the WPX3200's rated or maximum pressure?

The page read does not say. Westinghouse lists 3,200 PSI and 2.5 GPM with no separate rated pair, so treat them as headline figures and keep accessory ratings at or above 3,200 PSI. See max vs rated PSI and GPM. More in Westinghouse WPX3200

Does the Greenworks GPW2300 really flow 2.3 GPM?

Only at low pressure. Greenworks Commercial lists 2,300 PSI at 1.2 GPM, with the 2.3 GPM maximum measured at only 100 PSI, so the two headline numbers are not one operating point. More in Greenworks GPW2300 (and GPW2303A, Canada)
