Short answer

Pick the mount size you measured, or the size your router or spindle maker states, to see the bodies made to it, the labels makers use for it, the rings and shims to other sizes, and the dust boots for it. Every size shown is a maker's own label.

Sizes are makers' labels

Each size page lists what makers call their parts, read on 2026-10-11. We do not measure routers, spindles or mounts. Labels can differ for the same body: FoxAlien calls its DeWalt DWP611 clamp 69 mm,[1] Carbide 3D sells a 69 mm Sweepy 2.0 for the DeWalt trim router,[2] and Sienci lists its 71 mm LongMill mount for the DWP611 and Bosch Colt.[3] Neither maker explains the difference, so the DWP611 appears on both the 69 mm and 71 mm pages. Buy the holder whose maker names your router and machine.

Conversions are exact arithmetic

Inch figures on these pages come from one fact: an inch is exactly 25.4 mm.[4] A conversion tells you the same size in the other unit; it is not a tolerance, and it does not mean a part made for one label fits a body sold under another.

Rings only where a maker documents them

The "Rings and shims" field lists only parts whose maker names both sizes. PwnCNC, for example, sells 69-to-65 and 80-to-65 mm shims among others,[5] designed primarily around its own mounts.[5]

From size to machine

A bore that fits the body is half the match; the back of the mount must fit your Z axis. Use the CNC machine part finder for that, and how to measure a router or spindle body if you have not measured yet.

Questions

My measurement falls between two sizes. Which do I pick?

Neither yet. Check the router or spindle maker's stated body size and buy a holder whose maker names that model. The measuring guide shows where to measure.

Why does the DeWalt DWP611 appear under 69 mm and 71 mm?

Because makers label it both ways: FoxAlien and Carbide 3D call their DWP611 parts 69 mm, Sienci lists its 71 mm mount for it. We show both and do not average them.[1][3][2]

Can a ring make an 80 mm mount hold a 65 mm router?

Only a ring or shim whose maker documents it. PwnCNC sells 80-to-65 mm shims and says they were designed primarily around its own mounts.[5]
