How we choose

What a product needs to be included

  • Mount diameter or body diameter stated for any router, spindle, mount or dust boot
  • Collet system and shank sizes stated for any spindle, router, collet or collet set
  • Spindle kits state power, voltage, cooling type, weight and the VFD included
  • Workholding states thread size (1/4-20, M6, M8) or T-track slot profile
  • Identifiable model or listing with stable specifications

What we exclude

  • Instructions for wiring a VFD, spindle or any mains-voltage connection (the site points to the maker's manual and a qualified electrician)
  • Advice to remove, bypass or defeat guards, e-stops, limit switches or interlocks
  • Running a bit or collet above its maker-stated RPM or shank range, or 'universal collet' claims without the collet system stated
  • Laser modules and laser engravers (eye-injury hazard; outside this segment)
  • Cutting fluids, coolants, finishes, adhesives and other chemicals
  • Health or dust-exposure guarantees for dust boots and collection
  • Power, runout or accuracy figures stated beyond what the maker publishes, or presented as tested by us
  • Complete CNC machines as recommendations (they appear only as the reference systems parts fit)
  • Software, CAM licences and post-processors
