Find a mower blade by part number
Where your mower's blade number is, what 'replaces' means, how to read aftermarket cross-references, and how Oregon's part finder searches by OEM number.

Short answer
Start from the maker's part number in your mower's parts list or maintenance sheet. Search that number in the maker's parts lookup or in Oregon's part finder, which takes the OEM part number of the part you are replacing. Read every cross-reference as the statement of the maker who publishes it, and still check length, hole and count.
Where the numbers are
Your mower's own paperwork is the first place to look. John Deere's maintenance sheet for the D100 with a 42-inch deck lists blade GX22151, blade kit GY20850, bagging kit AM141034, mulching kit AM141033 and gage wheel GX10168.[1] One sheet gives you the blade, the kit and the attachments for that one machine. See the John Deere D100 42-inch page for the record.
If you do not have the sheet, the model and serial number on the mower's label get you to the maker's parts list. Our model and serial guide shows why both numbers matter, and the mower model parts finder links each reference model to its records.
"Replaces": the maker's own supersessions
Makers retire part numbers and point the old number to a new one. That is a supersession. Three examples from the maker pages we read:
- Toro says its 22-inch Recycler blade 59534P replaces part 59534.[2]
- Cub Cadet says its mulching kit 19A30055100 replaces 19A30046100.[3]
- Cub Cadet says its double bagger 19B30031100 replaces 19A30003100 and 19A30031100.[4]
Each page states one direction only: the new number replaces the old. None of them says the old and new parts are identical, so do not assume the older kit had the same contents.
Aftermarket cross-references
An aftermarket maker may publish a cross-reference: a list of OEM numbers its part is meant to replace.
- Craftsman describes its 42-inch blade set CMXGZAM110136 as a replacement for Craftsman, Husqvarna, Poulan and Poulan Pro riding mowers that use part numbers 532138971, 532138498, 532127843 or 127843.[5]
- Oregon lists its 92-105 mulching blade as a replacement for John Deere parts including GX21784, GX21785, GX21786, GY20852 and AM137757.[6]
- Oregon lists its 91-635 Gator G3 blade as a replacement for Cub Cadet.[7]
A cross-reference is that maker's statement, not the mower maker's. It is a strong lead, and you still check it against the length, the center hole and the number of blades your deck takes.
A number in a title is not a cross-reference
Oregon's deck wheel 72-025 is titled "WHEEL, Deck 734-04155", but Oregon does not label 734-04155 as a cross-reference and lists no models; it sends buyers to its parts lookup.[8] Treat a number in a title like that as a search term, not as a fit statement.
Oregon's part finder
Oregon's part finder offers two searches: by equipment brand and model, or by the OEM part number of the part you are replacing.[9] It has no search by measurement. If you have a number, that is the faster and safer route.

No number at all?
If the label is gone and the old blade's stamp is unreadable, measure the blade and name its center hole, then confirm the result against a maker's record. Our blade measuring guide covers the fields. Oregon's catalog records center holes by name or size for each part, so a matching hole name still needs the rest of the record.[10]

Questions
How do I find a mower blade by part number?
Take the number from your parts list, maintenance sheet or old blade and search it in the maker's parts lookup or Oregon's part finder, which accepts the OEM number of the part you are replacing.[9]
What does "replaces part number" mean?
It is the maker saying a new number supersedes an old one, as Toro says 59534P replaces 59534. The pages we read state one direction only and do not say the parts are identical.[2]
Does an aftermarket cross-reference prove fit?
No. It is that aftermarket maker's statement, such as Oregon listing 92-105 for John Deere GX21784. Check length, center hole and blade count against your deck too.[6]
What if my old part number is no longer sold?
Look for the maker's "replaces" statement on the new part's page. Cub Cadet, for example, says 19B30031100 replaces 19A30003100 and 19A30031100.[4]
