Short answer
"42-inch" covers several different blade systems. Craftsman alone sells a two-blade 5-point star set (CMXGZAM110136), a 6-point star set with one blade (CMXGZAM110108) and a two-blade S-shape set (CMXGZAM110191). Match your OEM part number and your center hole, then check the blade count.
Craftsman: three different 42-inch sets
Craftsman's three 42-inch sets look alike in a search, and they are not interchangeable.
- CMXGZAM110136 is a 42-inch bagging and side-discharging set with two blades and a 5-point star center hole.[1] Craftsman describes it as a replacement for Craftsman, Husqvarna, Poulan and Poulan Pro riding mowers using 532138971, 532138498, 532127843 or 127843.[1]
- CMXGZAM110108 is a 42-inch bagging and side-discharging set with one blade and a 6-point star mounting hole.[2]
- CMXGZAM110191 is a 42-inch ultra high-lift bagging set with two blades and an S-shaped center hole, which Craftsman says prevents upside-down installation.[3]

What is an S-shape blade?
An S-shape center hole is a curved, keyed hole that only seats one way. On Craftsman's CMXGZAM110191, that shape means the blades cannot go on upside down.[3] It is a reason to stay with the hole type your mower uses, never to swap.
Cub Cadet
Cub Cadet's 42-inch Xtreme mulching blade set 490-110-C202 contains two blades with an S-shape center hole and fits Cub Cadet lawn tractors and RZT mowers with 42-inch decks.[4] Cub Cadet sells its mulching kit 19A30055100 separately for Cub Cadet lawn tractors and zero-turn mowers with 42-inch decks.[5] See the Cub Cadet XT1 and XT2 Enduro page.
John Deere D100 42-inch

Toro and Exmark 42-inch
Oregon sells 42TGR1HL2 as a set of two for 42-inch Toro/Exmark riding mower decks.[7]
Husqvarna
Husqvarna's fit chart classifies baggers and mulch kits by deck size and deck style, so the deck style is part of the match.[8] For blades, use your old blade's part number. Craftsman's CMXGZAM110136 covers Husqvarna riding mowers only when they use one of the numbers on its list, and the Husqvarna YTH18542 page shows the records we hold.
