Short answer

Pick your sander, router kit or track saw to see its dust port label as the maker states it, whether that label is an inside or outside diameter, the maker's own vacuum route and the adapters it names. Start from that route; measure only when the maker names nothing for your hose.

Each value comes from the tool maker's own product or support page, and each tool's page shows the source. A few examples of what those pages settle:

  • DEWALT DWE6423. DEWALT says the sander's port fits its DWV010 and DWV012 extractors directly, and that for other vacuum systems with 1-1/4-inch hoses you use the DWV9000 connector.[1] DEWALT's support article names the same route for several related sander models.[2] It does not say every other brand's cuff fits.
  • Bosch ROS20VSC. Bosch lists a VAC002 adapter in the box and names VAC002 or VAC024 for 1-1/4- or 1-1/2-inch vacuum hose.[3]
  • Makita SP6000J. Makita's page describes a 1-7/16-inch rear dust port in one bullet[4] and a 1-1/2-inch OD port in another. We list both labels as Makita's and treat the actual size as unresolved. The cordless XPS01PTJ page also says 1-7/16 inch and does not say whether that is an ID or an OD.[5]

"Not confirmed"

A field marked "Not confirmed" means no source we verified states that value. Port drawings and tolerances are rare on maker pages, so many fields read that way. We do not fill gaps with seller listings or forum posts, and we do not measure tools ourselves.

Your tool is not listed

  1. Check the tool maker's page for a named adapter or hose.
  2. Measure both the inside and outside diameter of the port, as Rockler advises, because the port's outside diameter has to match the hose's inside diameter.[6] See how to measure a dust port.
  3. Match the result in the dust hose size finder.

Questions

My tool is not in the finder. What now?

Look the tool up on its maker's page for a named adapter, then measure the port's inside and outside diameter, as Rockler advises. The measuring guide shows how.[6]

Why does the Makita SP6000J show two sizes?

Makita's own page gives two: a 1-7/16-inch rear dust port in one place and a 1-1/2-inch OD port in another. We show both as Makita's labels and treat the real size as unresolved.[4]

What does "Not confirmed" mean?

No source we verified states that value. It does not mean the value is wrong or missing from the tool, only that we could not confirm it from the maker or another named source.
