Short answer
Track-saw ports differ by maker, and sometimes by bullet point on the same page. Makita describes the SP6000J and XPS01PTJ rear port as 1-7/16 inch, but one SP6000J bullet says 1-1/2 inch OD.[1] Measure your port's inside and outside diameter before you buy any adapter.
Makita SP6000J: two labels for one port
Makita's SP6000J page describes a large 1-7/16-inch rear dust port that connects to a vacuum system.[1] Another feature bullet on the same page calls it a 1-1/2-inch OD dust port.[1]
Those two figures are not the same. One inch is exactly 25.4 mm,[2] so 1-7/16 in is about 36.5 mm and 1-1/2 in is 38.1 mm. Until Makita settles it, we treat the port size as unresolved. Your own caliper reading is the best number you will have.
Makita XPS01PTJ: one label, no surface
The cordless XPS01PTJ page also describes a large 1-7/16-inch rear dust port.[3] It does not say whether that is the inside or the outside diameter. An adapter has to meet one or the other, so measure both.
A look-alike part
Makita's SP6000J page shows part 194579-2 among its related accessories. Makita lists it as a guide rail adapter for routers, not a dust hose part.[1] Don't order it expecting a hose connection.
Festool track saws
Festool connects its tools through its own sleeves. Festool lists the 577162 connecting sleeve for D 27 and D 27/32 hoses and for power tools with D 27 and D 36 flanges.[4] No fact in our register names a particular Festool saw's flange, so check your saw's manual for which flange it has, then use Festool's sleeve list. The Festool sleeves guide has the details.
What each maker states
| Saw | Port label | ID or OD stated | What is unresolved | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Makita SP6000J | 1-7/16 in; also 1-1/2 in OD | OD in one bullet only | which figure is right | [1] |
| Makita XPS01PTJ | 1-7/16 in | not stated | inside or outside | [3] |
| Festool (by flange) | D 27 or D 36 flange | Festool's D label | which flange your saw has | [4] |
Before you buy an adapter
- Measure the port's inside and outside diameter, and note whether it tapers.
- Decide whether the adapter has to go inside the port or over it.
- Choose an adapter whose maker states end sizes that match your numbers.
- If nothing matches, ask the saw maker which hose or adapter it supports.

No adapter in our approved catalog has a maker statement that it fits these saws, so this page has no store buttons. The dust port finder lists what each tool maker names.

Questions
What size is the Makita track saw dust port?
Makita's SP6000J and XPS01PTJ pages describe a large 1-7/16-inch rear dust port. The SP6000J page also calls it a 1-1/2-inch OD port in another bullet, so treat the size as unresolved and measure yours.[1][3]
Is 1-7/16 in the inside or the outside of the port?
Makita does not say on the XPS01PTJ page. On the SP6000J page, one bullet says 1-7/16 inch and another says 1-1/2 inch OD, which do not agree.[3][1]
Is Makita 194579-2 a vacuum adapter?
No. Makita lists 194579-2 as a guide rail adapter for routers. It appears among the SP6000J's related accessories but is not a dust hose part.[1]
Will a 1-1/4-inch hose fit a track saw?
No source in our register says so for any track saw. Measure the port's inside and outside diameter, then look for an adapter whose maker states sizes that match.
