Short answer

REP says only the PR-4000 and PR-5000 power racks take the Ares 2.0. A PR-4000 needs 16 in crossmembers with vertical holes, and a PR-5000 must be the updated version with 1 in holes along the upright. It does not fit flat-footed racks such as the Omni, Apollo or original HR-5000. REP's guide gives 6 to 8 ft of cable travel, depending on configuration.

Watch out for

  • An original PR-5000 with alternating 5/8 in and 1 in holes does not qualify; REP needs the updated version with 1 in holes along the upright.
  • On a PR-4000, REP requires 16 in crossmembers with vertical holes.
  • Flat-footed racks (Omni, Apollo, original HR-5000) are excluded.
  • The 6 to 8 ft figure is cable travel, how far the handle moves, not the cable's length.
