Short answer

Pick your dust collector, extractor or vacuum to see the inlet size and layout its maker states, the inlet parts it ships with, and how to tell which version you own. These machines are reference systems that parts fit, never recommendations.

Each value comes from the machine maker's product page, data sheet, manual or parts list, and each machine's page names the source and, where the document has one, its date. A few examples:

  • Grizzly G8027. Grizzly's data sheet lists a 4-inch main inlet and says no inlet adapter is included.[1] It says its information is accurate as of October 12, 2026 and may not describe machines bought earlier.[1]
  • Shop Fox W1685. The inlet depends on the version. Grizzly's parts list shows a 6-inch to two 4-inch inlet Y marked V2.12.01, and an earlier 5 x 4 x 4 inlet marked V1.[2] Grizzly explains that a code such as V2.01.17 means version 2, first used in January 2017.[3]
  • Central Machinery 59726. Harbor Freight's manual lists a 4-inch inlet[4] and asks owners to give UPC 193175575661 when ordering parts,[4] which helps you confirm you have that exact item.

Reference systems, not picks

We list collectors, extractors and vacuums so you can match hoses, fittings and separators to them. We do not recommend any of them, and voltage or horsepower figures on their pages are there to identify the machine.

"Not confirmed"

A field marked "Not confirmed" means no source we verified states that value. Harbor Freight's 59726 manual, for example, shows a multi-opening inlet with a supplied cap but gives no size for each opening, so only the 4-inch inlet figure is listed.

Your machine is not listed

Read the inlet from your maker's manual or data sheet for your model and version. Then measure the inlet's inside and outside diameter, as Rockler advises for every port and hose connector.[5] See how to measure a dust port, then match hose in the dust hose size finder.

Questions

Are these collectors recommendations?

No. They are reference machines that hoses and fittings attach to. We list what their makers state about the inlet so you can match parts, and we never recommend a vacuum, extractor or collector.

How do I find my Shop Fox W1685's version?

Read the version code on your machine and compare it with Grizzly's parts list, which shows a 6 x 4 x 4 inlet Y for V2.12.01 and an earlier 5 x 4 x 4 inlet for V1. Grizzly explains that a code such as V2.01.17 means version 2, first used in January 2017.[2][3]

My collector is not listed. What now?

Read the inlet from the maker's manual or data sheet for your model and version, then measure the inlet's inside and outside diameter, as Rockler advises for every port.[5]
