DEWALT AirLock and the DWV9000: what each adapter joins

Short answer

DEWALT sanders like the DWE6423 and DCW210B fit DEWALT's DWV010 and DWV012 extractors directly. For other vacuums with 1-1/4-inch hoses, DEWALT names the DWV9000.^[1]^[2] DEWALT does not say every other brand's hose end fits it, so check your hose end against the DWV9000 before you rely on it.

The tools and DEWALT's routes

DEWALT says the DWE6423 sander's dust port fits directly to the DWV010 and DWV012 dust extractors.^[1] To connect the DWE6423 to other vacuum systems with 1-1/4-inch hoses, DEWALT names the DWV9000.^[1]

DEWALT's support answer gives the same DWV9000 route for the DWE6423K, DWE6421, DWE6421K, DWE6420 and DWE6411.^[3] It does not claim that every other brand's 1-1/4-inch cuff fits.

The cordless DCW210B follows the same pattern. DEWALT says its port fits the DWV010 and DWV012 directly and recommends the DWV9000 for other vacuums with 1-1/4-inch hoses.^[2]

AirLock parts on DEWALT's accessory index

DEWALT's vacuum accessory index lists the DWV9036 as a 36 mm AirLock adapter and the DWV9336 as a 15-foot, 36 mm anti-static non-marking hose.^[4] "Anti-static" is DEWALT's product description; it is not a fire or shock rating, and we make no claim beyond DEWALT's words.

The 36 mm figure is DEWALT's. It does not make a Bosch 35 mm or Festool D 36 part interchangeable; see the metric hose guide.

The large-hose adapter: DWV9190

DEWALT Canada says the DWV9190 large hose adapter works with the DWV9000 connector and connects to a 2-1/2-inch hose OD similar to a RIDGID or Shop-Vac hose.^[5] That is the DEWALT route for a large shop-vac hose.

The same page gives the part's size as "2 1/2" and as "57.2 mm". 57.2 mm is 2-1/4 inches, not 2-1/2. Because DEWALT's own figures conflict, we publish no dimension for the DWV9190. Compare it with your hose in person, or ask DEWALT.
