Short answer
Pick one quick-connect system and buy both halves from it: the hose end and an adapter for every tool you want to switch between. Makers document fit only inside their own system, so no Cen-Tec, Rockler, DEWALT or magnetic part is known to click into another brand's half.

What this topic covers
A quick-connect system splits a hose joint into two halves. One half stays on the tool. The other stays on the hose. You move the hose from tool to tool instead of pushing a cuff onto each port. Some systems lock with a click ring or AirLock collar; others use a magnetic coupling.
Each system is a closed set of parts. The questions are which hose your system's hose end takes, and whether your tools' ports take its adapters.
The decisions, in order
1. How many tools? Count the tools you will switch between. Each one needs its own tool-side part, and the hose needs one hose-side part. With two tools, a plain cuff may be enough. With five, the tool-side parts are most of the purchase.
2. Which system's adapters do your tools and hose accept?
- Cen-Tec Quick Click. Cen-Tec sells it as separate parts: a threaded hose fitting with click ring, a replacement click ring, soft TPE tool adapters and a 1.25-inch hose extension adapter.[1] The hose fittings fit 1-1/4-inch threaded crushproof hose and are not compatible with most blow-molded hoses supplied with shop vacuums.[2][3]
- Rockler Click-Connect. Rockler lists the FlexiPort 64358 with a 3/4-inch ID by 1-1/4-inch OD rubber end, and says it needs the separately sold Click-Connect hose adapter 68066 for the hose to click into place.[4]
- DEWALT AirLock and DWV9000. DEWALT names the DWV9000 connector to join the DWE6423 sander to other vacuums with 1-1/4-inch hoses.[5][6] It lists the DWV9036 as a 36 mm AirLock adapter and the DWV9336 as a 15-foot, 36 mm hose.[7] DEWALT's route does not mean every other-brand cuff fits.
- Magnetic, 4 in and 2-1/2 in. Infinity Tools sells MagSnap ports in 4-inch and 2-1/2-inch hose sizes, with a magnet version for the collector side and a ring version for the tool side.[8] Magport says its 4-inch coupling is sold individually but needs more than one unit to operate.[9] Woodcraft lists the MagFitt 4-inch machine coupling as working with MagFitt's own 4-inch and 4-by-2-1/2-inch hose connectors.[10]
3. What stays on each tool? With Rockler's system the FlexiPort stays on the tool. With Infinity's, the ring version goes on the tool side.[8] Infinity says each MagSnap port is ABS with rare-earth magnets and metal rings and includes a hose clamp.[8] No maker we read publishes a holding-force or leakage figure.
4. Buy both halves in one system. MagFitt's listing says nothing about Magport parts,[10] and neither Cen-Tec nor Rockler documents a cross-brand fit. Treat every cross-brand pairing as unknown.
How to choose
- A shop vacuum feeding small-port tools (sanders, a miter saw): a Rockler Click-Connect FlexiPort kit or a Cen-Tec Quick Click kit with its own hose.
- You already own a shop-vac hose: Rockler sells a Click-Connect adapter for ordinary shop-vac hoses. A Cen-Tec fitting needs 1-1/4 in threaded crushproof hose.
- A dust collector with 4 in hose: a magnetic system sold in 4 in, with one collector-side half and one tool-side half per machine.
Picks that fit4 products
For Rockler's system, choose the FlexiPort kit with the 3 to 12 ft expandable hose, Click-Connect hose adapter and four FlexiPorts; add the Click-Connect shop-vac adapter only if you want to use your existing shop-vac hose.
More on choosing
For Cen-Tec's system, choose the 94709 16 ft hose with the expanded multi-brand adapter set, or the 95237 adapter set alone if you already have a Cen-Tec 1-1/4 in threaded hose. Do not mix the two systems. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or the brand.

Common questions
Can I mix Cen-Tec and Rockler quick-connect parts?
No source in our register says they interconnect. Buy the hose fitting and the tool-end parts from the same system. More in Cen-Tec Quick Click vs Rockler Click-Connect: parts, sizes and hose fit
Which one fits the hose that came with my vac?
Cen-Tec says its threaded fittings are not compatible with most blow-molded hoses supplied with shop vacuums. Rockler says the hose needs its #68066 Click-Connect adapter to click into a FlexiPort. The simplest route with either is a kit that includes its own hose. More in Cen-Tec Quick Click vs Rockler Click-Connect: parts, sizes and hose fit
Which one has more suction?
Neither maker's page in our register gives an airflow figure, and we do not test products, so we can't say. Choose by port fit and hose. More in Cen-Tec Quick Click vs Rockler Click-Connect: parts, sizes and hose fit
Is the Cen-Tec hose antistatic?
Cen-Tec describes the 95567 hose as static dissipative, and sells a 40751 fitting it calls antistatic. Those are Cen-Tec's words; we make no fire or shock safety claim from them. More in Cen-Tec Quick Click vs Rockler Click-Connect: parts, sizes and hose fit
What does the DWV9000 connect?
DEWALT names the DWV9000 for connecting sanders such as the DWE6423 and DCW210B to vacuums other than its DWV010 and DWV012, when those vacuums have 1-1/4-inch hoses. More in DEWALT AirLock and the DWV9000: what each adapter joins
Will the DWV9000 fit my RIDGID or Shop-Vac hose?
DEWALT names it for 1-1/4-inch hoses. For a 2-1/2-inch hose OD similar to RIDGID or Shop-Vac, DEWALT Canada names the DWV9190 large hose adapter, used with the DWV9000. More in DEWALT AirLock and the DWV9000: what each adapter joins
Is AirLock the same as 36 mm?
DEWALT lists a 36 mm AirLock adapter (DWV9036) and a 36 mm anti-static hose (DWV9336). That makes 36 mm one AirLock size DEWALT sells, not a general metric standard. More in DEWALT AirLock and the DWV9000: what each adapter joins
Do I need a DEWALT extractor?
No. DEWALT says the DWE6423 and DCW210B ports fit its DWV010 and DWV012 directly, and names the DWV9000 for other vacuums with 1-1/4-inch hoses. More in DEWALT AirLock and the DWV9000: what each adapter joins
Questions
Can I mix Cen-Tec and Rockler parts?
Neither maker says so. Cen-Tec documents its Quick Click parts and Rockler documents its Click-Connect parts, each as its own system, so buy the hose end and the tool adapters from one system.[1][4]
How many magnetic couplings do I need?
At least two halves per joint. Magport says its 4-inch magnetic coupling is sold individually but needs more than one unit to operate, and Infinity sells MagSnap as a magnet version for the collector side and a ring version for the tool side.[9][8]
Does Quick Click fit my stock vac hose?
Usually not. Cen-Tec says its 41125 and 40751 threaded fittings fit 1-1/4-inch threaded crushproof hose and are not compatible with most blow-molded hoses supplied with shop vacuums.[2][3]
Do magnetic fittings leak?
We found no published figure. Infinity Tools lists MagSnap materials (ABS, rare-earth magnets, metal rings) and includes a hose clamp with each port, but publishes no holding-force or leakage numbers.[8]
