Safety straps: rack depth, hangers and the maker's rating
Measure inside depth, match hangers and pins to your rack, and read each maker's strap rating in its own scope, including Rogue's 10,000 lb strap wording.

Short answer
Measure your rack's inside depth first, then choose a strap system whose maker lists your rack (or your upright size) and that depth. The hangers and pins must match your rack's hardware class, and the rating you read is the maker's number in the maker's scope. A strap's own "10,000 lb" wording is not a system rating.
Step 1: measure the inside depth
Synergee tells buyers to measure their rack's inside depth and match it to the closest strap option.[1] Inside depth is the clear distance between the front and rear uprights on the same side, where the strap will hang.
Synergee sells its straps in 23, 29 and 35 in inside-depth options. The 2x2 version comes in 23 in only.[1] So a 2x2 rack with a deeper bay has no Synergee strap option; do not stretch a shorter strap or improvise a longer one.
Step 2: match the hangers and pins to your rack
The strap is only one part. The brackets, often called hangers, pin into the uprights, and that pin has to match your rack's holes.
Rogue Monster (1 in hardware). Rogue's Monster Safety Strap 2.0 system fits only Monster Series rigs and racks and uses 0.3125 in steel brackets with a 1 in pin.[2] Its manual lists four strap hangers, two straps, four 5/8 x 4.75 in hex bolts and four 5/8 in nylock nuts; the strap length depends on the option you select.[3] The manual says to make sure each hanger's pin notch is fully seated on the upright wall.[3]
Rogue Monster Lite (5/8 in hardware). Rogue's Monster Lite Strap Safety System 2.0 fits only Monster Lite racks and rigs and uses 0.3125 in brackets with a 0.625 in pin.[4] Monster and Monster Lite hangers are separate products; one does not stand in for the other.
Titan T-3 and X-3. Titan lists 4 in loops on its T-3 24 in safety strap (24T3STRAPv2).[5] Titan says its X-3 24 in safety strap (24X3STRAPv2) hangs 10 in below its mounting point.[6] That drop matters when you set the height: the catch point is below the hanger, not level with it.
Step 3: read the rating in the maker's words
| Strap system | Maker's figure | Scope as the maker states it |
|---|---|---|
| Synergee Safety Straps | Rated to catch up to 750 lb | Sold as a pair |
| REP Strap Safeties 2.0, 1000 Series | 700 lb | Scope not stated on the US page |
| REP Strap Safeties 2.0, 5000 Series | 1,000 lb | "Per Pair" on REP's EU page only |
| Rogue Monster and Monster Lite straps | "Safety-rated for 10,000 lb" / "rated for over 10,000LB" | The nylon strap component, not the system |
Sources for the table: Synergee,[1] REP,[7] and Rogue.[2][4]
Rogue's 10,000 lb wording describes the strap webbing. It does not cover the brackets, the pins or your rack, and it is not a lifting allowance. We do not turn it, or any rating, into a "safe working load".
The 2021 REP bracket recall
In CPSC recall 21-721, dated February 11, 2021, REP Fitness recalled about 1,940 PR-4000 and PR-5000 strap safety brackets because poorly welded brackets could detach when weight dropped onto the straps.[8] The recalled SKUs were PRA-4120 and PRA-5122, sold on repfitness.com from April to December 2020. This is a historical notice; it does not mean current REP straps are affected. If you own brackets from that period, check the CPSC notice. The recalls and inspection guide explains how to look one up.

Synergee straps: choose your upright size (2x2, 2x3 or 3x3) and the inside depth closest to your measurement (23, 29 or 35 in; 2x2 is 23 in only); for 1 in holes Synergee's FAQ says to select the 1 in version.

Questions
How do I choose a safety strap length?
Measure your rack's inside depth and pick the closest option the maker offers. Synergee sells 23, 29 and 35 in inside-depth options.[1]
Are straps rated for 10,000 lb?
Rogue calls its nylon strap 'safety-rated for 10,000 lb', but that wording covers the strap component only. It is not a rating for the brackets, pins or the system.[2]
Do straps fit a 2x2 rack?
Some do, if the maker lists 2x2. Synergee offers a 2x2 version in the 23 in inside depth only.[1]
How often should I inspect straps?
Rogue's strap manuals say all rigging must be inspected before each use. They give no longer interval.[3]
Are REP strap safeties recalled?
In February 2021 the CPSC announced recall 21-721 of about 1,940 REP PR-4000 and PR-5000 strap safety brackets sold April to December 2020. It is a historical recall; check the CPSC notice for affected units.[8]
