Short answer
Pick the mount type your rack takes first, then a dip attachment whose maker lists your rack or your exact upright and hole size, states a rating and shows how it locks. Dip makers keep tight host lists: REP's Drop-In Dip fits the PR-4000, PR-5000, Omni and Apollo but not its own 1000 Series.[1] If you plan to dip on the front of the rack, read what the rack maker says about anchoring.
What a dip attachment is
A dip attachment turns a rack upright into a pair of dip handles. You put your body weight on it, often away from the rack's center, so the way it mounts and locks matters as much as its rating. Three mount types are common, and the dip mount types guide explains each.
- J-cup style. The attachment pins into the upright holes like a J-cup. REP's 4000/5000 Series Dip Station attaches this way, is anchored by a pin and is rated at 400 lb.[2]
- Drop-in. REP's Drop-In Dip Attachment, rated at 810 lb, sits in the upright holes and is listed only for named REP racks.[1]
- Mount-over. REP's 1000 Series dip attachment sits over the rack's safeties, both on the same side: knobs tighten on the top safety and the bottom safety supports the base.[3]
The decisions, in order
1. Mount type. Your rack's holes and safeties decide which type can work. A mount-over dip needs the safeties its maker names; a J-cup style dip needs your upright and hole size.
2. The maker lists your rack. REP says it does not guarantee its Drop-In Dip will fit other brands' racks because of machining and manufacturing differences.[1] Even within one brand, folding racks can be excluded: Titan says its X Dip Bar does not fit the T-3 Tall Folding Power Rack (41 in depth, V2), while the T-3 Y Dip Bar does.[4] Sunny lists its SF-XFA002 dip bars for named Powerzone cages only.[5] The dip fit guide works through host lists and exclusions.
3. Rating and lock. Synergee lists a 350 lb weight capacity for its dip handles.[6] Sunny rates its SF-XFA002 for up to 330 lb of user weight.[5] Mutant Metals lists a 550 lb load rating for its Ultimate Dip Attachment, whose frame Rogue fabricates.[7] Quote each in the maker's wording; "user weight" and "weight capacity" are different phrases.
4. Complete kit or body only. Mutant Metals sells a body only version of its Ultimate Dip Attachment without handles.[8] Read the variant name before you order.
5. Anchoring for front mounting. REP recommends bolting the rack down or adding Front Foot Extensions when its Drop-In Dip is used on the front of the rack.[1] The anchoring guide collects what each rack maker says.
How to choose
Width is the one comfort choice, and some makers handle it by placement: Synergee says its handles are not width-adjustable, but mounting them inside the rack gives a narrower grip and mounting on the front or outside a wider one.[6] Three approved attachments name their fit and rating. Synergee's handles come in 2x2, 2x3 and 3x3 versions and lock with a pin and a back-side tension knob. Titan's T-2 Series Dip Bars are for T-2 racks, with a pin-and-twist J-hook mount. Sunny's SF-XFA002 is for the named Powerzone cages.
Picks that fit3 products
Synergee: choose your upright (2x2, 2x3 or 3x3) and, for 1 in holes, a version with the 5/8 in / 1 in converter; the NC versions take 5/8 in holes only.
More on choosing
Titan: the T-2 Series Dip Bars pair is for T-2 racks only. Sunny: the SF-XFA002 set is only for the Powerzone cages Sunny names. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or the brand.

Common questions
What is the difference between a drop-in and a J-cup style dip?
A J-cup style dip, like REP's 4000/5000 Dip Station, pins into the holes and is anchored by a pin. REP's Drop-In Dip mounts with a double C-cup into the holes, and REP describes no separate locking pin. More in Rack dip attachments: J-cup style, drop-in and mount-over
Can I adjust dip handle width?
Not on Synergee's handles. Synergee says they are not width-adjustable, but mounting them inside the rack gives a narrower grip and on the front or outside a wider one. More in Rack dip attachments: J-cup style, drop-in and mount-over
What does 'body only' mean?
It is a frame sold without handles. Mutant Metals says its UDA body-only variant does not include handles, so you need to add them before use. More in Rack dip attachments: J-cup style, drop-in and mount-over
Does REP's 1000 Series dip pin into the uprights?
No. REP says it mounts over the rack's safeties, with both safeties on the same side and the knobs tightened on the top one. More in Rack dip attachments: J-cup style, drop-in and mount-over
Will a REP dip attachment fit my Titan rack?
No source we found confirms it. REP lists its Drop-In Dip for the PR-4000, PR-5000, Omni and Apollo and says it does not guarantee fit on other brands. More in Will a dip attachment fit my rack?
Does the Sunny dip bar fit other brands?
Sunny lists the SF-XFA002 only for named Sunny Powerzone cages and does not state upright or hole sizes, so there is no basis for fit on other brands. More in Will a dip attachment fit my rack?
Do I need to bolt my rack down for dips?
REP recommends bolting the rack down or adding Front Foot Extensions when its drop-in dip is used on the front of the rack. For other racks, follow your rack maker's anchoring instruction. More in Will a dip attachment fit my rack?
Does the Titan X Dip Bar fit the T-3 Tall Folding rack?
No. Titan says the X Dip Bar is not compatible with the T-3 Tall Folding Power Rack (41 in depth, V2), while the T-3 Y Dip Bar is. More in Will a dip attachment fit my rack?
Questions
Will a dip attachment fit my rack?
Only if its maker lists your rack or your exact upright and hole size. REP lists its Drop-In Dip for the PR-4000, PR-5000, Omni and Apollo, says it does not fit the 1000 Series, and does not guarantee it fits other brands' racks.[1]
Can I adjust dip width?
Some designs let you change it by where you mount them. Synergee says its dip handles are not width-adjustable, but mounting them inside the rack gives a narrower grip and mounting on the front or outside a wider one.[6]
Do I need to bolt the rack down for dips?
Follow the rack maker. REP recommends bolting the rack down or adding its Front Foot Extensions when its drop-in dip is used on the front of the rack. Anchoring steps belong in the rack maker's manual, done by a qualified installer if you are unsure.[1]
What does 'body only' mean?
It means the listing sells the frame without the handles. Mutant Metals sells a 'body only' version of its Ultimate Dip Attachment that does not include handles, so check the variant before you order.[8]
