Short answer
Rack dip attachments mount in one of three ways: pinned into the holes like a J-cup, dropped into the holes with a double hook, or clamped over the rack's safeties. The method decides which racks a dip can go on and how it is held, so choose by your rack's series first, then read the maker's rating and lock.

| Drop-in | Double C-cup drops into the upright holes | REP Drop-In Dip | No separate pin described | 810 lb |
| Mount-over | Sits over the rack's safeties | REP 1000 Series dip | Knobs on the top safety | 400 lb |
| Third-party handles | Inside, front or outside of the rack | Synergee Dip Handles | See the product listing | 350 lb |
Sources: REP dip station,[1] REP drop-in,[2] REP 1000 Series dip,[3] Synergee.[4]
J-cup style: pinned into the holes
REP's 4000/5000 Series Dip Station attaches like a J-cup into the rack holes and is anchored by a pin. REP rates it at 400 lb and lists it for the PR-4000 and PR-5000 only.[1] This is the most familiar method: if you can hang a J-cup on your rack, you understand how it goes on. It still fits only the racks listed.
Drop-in: a double hook in the holes
REP's Drop-In Dip Attachment mounts with a double C-cup into the upright holes. REP lists it for the PR-4000, PR-5000, Omni and Apollo racks, says it does not fit the 1000 Series, and gives an 810 lb weight capacity. No separate locking pin is described.[2] The handles are powder-coated without rubber grips.
Mount-over: clamped over the safeties
REP's 1000 Series dip does not pin into the uprights at all. It mounts over the rack's safeties: both safeties go on the same side, the knobs are tightened on the top safety, and the bottom safety supports the base.[3] REP lists it for the PR-1000, PR-1050 and PR-1100, rates it at 400 lb, and says minor wiggle is normal.[3]
This method depends on your safeties as much as on your uprights. Use the safeties REP lists for it, set exactly as REP describes.
Third-party dip handles
Synergee Dip Handles. Synergee lists a 350 lb weight capacity for its rack dip handles, sold as a left and right pair.[4] They are not width-adjustable. Synergee says mounting them inside the rack gives a narrower grip and mounting them on the front or outside gives a wider one.[4]
Mutant Metals Ultimate Dip Attachment (UDA). Mutant Metals describes the UDA as a hybrid with a Rogue Fitness-fabricated frame and lists a 550 lb load rating.[5] In its words, it combines "the manufacturing technology of Rogue Fitness and the finishing of Mutant Metals".[5] That describes who builds it; it does not make any marketplace seller an authorized one. Mutant Metals lists 3x3 versions for 1 in and 5/8 in holes; 2x3 and 2x2 fit is by email inquiry only.
What "body only" means
Mutant Metals also sells a UDA "body only" variant. Its page says: "This is the UDA BODY ONLY and does not include handles."[6] A body-only listing is a frame you cannot dip on until you add the handles. Read the variant name before you order.

Questions
What is the difference between a drop-in and a J-cup style dip?
A J-cup style dip, like REP's 4000/5000 Dip Station, pins into the holes and is anchored by a pin. REP's Drop-In Dip mounts with a double C-cup into the holes, and REP describes no separate locking pin.[1][2]
Can I adjust dip handle width?
Not on Synergee's handles. Synergee says they are not width-adjustable, but mounting them inside the rack gives a narrower grip and on the front or outside a wider one.[4]
What does 'body only' mean?
It is a frame sold without handles. Mutant Metals says its UDA body-only variant does not include handles, so you need to add them before use.[6]
Does REP's 1000 Series dip pin into the uprights?
No. REP says it mounts over the rack's safeties, with both safeties on the same side and the knobs tightened on the top one.[3]
