The three series
Rain Bird sells its 1/2 in blank distribution tubing in three outside diameters: T63 at 0.63 in, T70 at 0.70 in and T71 at 0.71 in.[1] The product page gives no inside diameter for any of them.
Rain Bird's online store lists the T63 at 0.63 in OD with a 70 psi pressure rating.[2] The store also lists the T63, T70 and T71 as separate series, so they are different products, not one tube sold under three names.[3]

Easy-Fit: what Rain Bird states
- Range: 1/2 in Universal Easy-Fit compression fittings are listed for 0.63-0.70 in OD drip tubing.[4]
- Pressure: 0 to 60 psi.[4]
- Adapters: Rain Bird says Easy-Fit adapters are not barbed fittings and are to be used only with Easy-Fit compression fittings.[4] Do not push tubing straight onto one.
- Dripline: Rain Bird names either its XF dripline insert fittings or Easy-Fit compression fittings for XFD dripline.[5]
"Universal" is Rain Bird's product name. The fit is the stated 0.63-0.70 in OD range, not every 1/2 in tube.

If you have T71 or other .710 tubing
T71 is 0.71 in OD, above the Easy-Fit range. Do not heat the tubing or force it into an Easy-Fit fitting. Look for a fitting whose maker lists .710 in, such as one of the range-based couplings in our guide to "universal" drip fittings, or join T71 to other tubing with a coupling listed for both sizes (see joining .700 tubing to .620 or .710).

The safest extension is more of the same series, so every fitting you already own stays in its stated range.
