DeWalt DWP611 collet: 1/4 in, aftermarket sizes and nuts

The DWP611's extended 8-slot 1/4 in collet, Elaire's DWP-series sizes, why DW616/618/621 collets do not fit, and PreciseBits' nut-only rule.

Also listed as DWP611 collet, DeWalt 611 collet

Short answer

DeWalt lists an extended 8-slot 1/4 in collet for the DWP611. Elaire's aftermarket DWP-series collets add other inch and metric sizes, while its standard DeWalt collets are for the DW616, DW618 and DW621, not the DWP611. PreciseBits' DEPG-0611 nut works only with PreciseBits collets.

Makers' clamping rules
Elaire: its standard DeWalt collets (1/4 in cross-reference 326286-04) are for the DW616, DW618 and DW621, not the DWP611. PreciseBits: its DEPG-0611-NUT nut and Talon wrench work only with PreciseBits collets, not the router's stock collet.[2][3]Elaire cross-references its 1/4 in DWP-2500 to A24215SV; that is Elaire's cross-reference, not a DeWalt-confirmed part number.

Watch out for

  • DeWalt DW616, DW618 and DW621 collets are not DWP611 collets; Elaire sells a separate DWP series.
  • PreciseBits' DEPG-0611 nut works only with PreciseBits collets, not the DWP611's stock collet.
  • A24215SV is Elaire's cross-reference, not a DeWalt-confirmed part number.

Mounts for the DWP611 carry two labels: see 69 mm mounts and 71 mm mounts.

Questions

Do DeWalt DW618 collets fit the DWP611?

No. Elaire lists its standard DeWalt collets for the DW616, DW618 and DW621 and directs DWP611 owners to its separate DWP series.[2]

Can I get a 1/8 in collet for the DWP611?

Elaire's aftermarket DWP series includes 1/8 in, along with 5/32, 3/16, 1/4 and 5/16 in and 4, 6 and 8 mm. Elaire does not say DeWalt approves sizes other than 1/4 in.[2]

Will a PreciseBits nut work with my stock DWP611 collet?

No. PreciseBits says its DEPG-0611-NUT and Talon wrench work only with PreciseBits collets, not the router's stock collet.[3]
