Short answer
Three approved plates state their outline and the routers they are drilled for. Choose Kreg's predrilled PRS4036 for a Porter-Cable 690/890 or Bosch 1617, Kreg's undrilled PRS4038 for a router on its two marked patterns (such as the Porter-Cable 7518), and Woodpeckers' Triton version for a Triton TRA001.
How we chose
A plate is on this list only if:
- The maker states the outline and thickness. Woodpeckers lists its cast aluminum plate at 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 x 3/8 in.[1] Kreg's plates are the same nominal outline, and its instructions show 3/4 in radius corners for Kreg's own opening.[2] INCRA says there is no industry-standard opening size,[3] so the outline has to be stated, not assumed.
- The maker names the router bases. Kreg's PRS4036 is predrilled for the Bosch 1617 and Porter-Cable 690 and 890 series.[2] Kreg's undrilled PRS4038 has molded center points for two patterns,[2] with Pattern 2 covering the Milwaukee 5625-20, the Porter-Cable 7518, 7519, 7538 and 7539, and the Triton TRA001 and MOF001.[2] Woodpeckers' AITRITON version fits the Triton TRC-001, MOF-001KC, JOF-001 and TRA-001.[1]
- The rings are stated. Woodpeckers includes three Twist Lock rings with 1, 1-3/16 and 2-5/8 in openings;[1] Kreg includes three Level-Loc rings.[2]
- It is in our approved catalog with a store listing.

Predrilled for Porter-Cable 690/890 and Bosch 1617
Kreg PRS4036 Precision Router Table Insert Plate, predrilled for Porter-Cable and Bosch
Pick it if: Porter-Cable 690/890 and Bosch 1617 owners with a 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 in opening
- Why it's here
- Kreg's instructions say the PRS4036 is predrilled for the Bosch 1617 and Porter-Cable 690 and 890 series, with router mounting screws, three Level-Loc rings (1, 1-3/16 and 2-5/8 in) and a brass starting pin.
- Watch out
- It mounts in a rabbeted opening or on Kreg's separately sold levelers. Kreg's product page states no corner radius for the plate. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or Kreg.
- Insert-plate outline (e.g. 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 in)
- 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 in (235 x 298 mm)
- Plate thickness
- 3/8 in (Kreg's page gives both 9 mm and 9.5 mm)
- Plate corner radius
- Not stated
- Router motor body diameter
- Not stated
Values are the manufacturer's specs unless marked.
Undrilled, with two marked patterns
Kreg PRS4038 Precision Router Table Insert Plate, undrilled
Pick it if: Routers on Kreg's Pattern 1 or 2 lists, including the Porter-Cable 7518
- Why it's here
- Kreg's undrilled PRS4038 has molded center points for two patterns. Pattern 1 covers routers including the Bosch 1617/1618, DeWalt 616/618, Hitachi M12VC, Makita 1100 and Porter-Cable 690, 890, 7529 and 8529; Pattern 2 covers the Milwaukee 5625-20, the Porter-Cable 7518, 7519, 7538 and 7539, and the Triton TRA001 and MOF001.
- Watch out
- You drill it yourself to Kreg's instructions, and router mounting screws come only with Kreg's predrilled plates. A drilled plate may be hard to return. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or Kreg.
- Insert-plate outline (e.g. 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 in)
- 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 in (235 x 298 mm)
- Plate thickness
- 3/8 in (9 mm)
- Plate corner radius
- Not stated
- Router motor body diameter

Values are the manufacturer's specs unless marked.
Drilled for Triton routers
Woodpeckers AITRITON cast aluminum router mounting plate for Triton
Pick it if: Triton TRA001 and other listed Triton routers
- Why it's here

- Watch out
- Woodpeckers' page states no corner radius. Choose the Triton drilling, not the AI890 version for other routers. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or Woodpeckers.
- Insert-plate outline (e.g. 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 in)
- 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 in

Values are the manufacturer's specs unless marked.

A listed pattern is the start, not the end
Even a listed plate needs a check. INCRA notes that predrilled plates may have more holes than a given router needs, and that the included screws may not match every compatible router.[4] Check the screws and any above-table adjustment hole for your router. If you drill a blank plate, follow the plate maker's instructions; this site gives no drilling steps.
See the insert plates hub and router base hole patterns.
Questions
Which plate here fits a Porter-Cable 7518?
Kreg's undrilled PRS4038, drilled to its Pattern 2, which Kreg lists for the Porter-Cable 7518, 7519, 7538 and 7539.[2]
Will these plates fit my table?
Only if your opening matches. INCRA says there is no industry-standard opening size, so compare your opening's outline, thickness and corners with the plate maker's figures first.[3]
Why is the POWERTEC 71850 not here?
POWERTEC lists the 71850 at 9-1/4 x 11-3/4 x 3/8 in, but the router-fit wording we read was unclear, so it does not meet this list's router-pattern test, and it is not in our approved catalog.[5]
