Router base hole patterns: which predrilled plate lists your router

Kreg, INCRA and Woodpeckers plate charts side by side: which predrilled plate each maker lists for the Porter-Cable 690, Bosch 1617, PC 7518 and Triton TRA001.

Short answer

A predrilled plate fits the router bases its maker lists. Kreg, INCRA and Woodpeckers each group routers into a few hole patterns, and each uses its own part numbers. Find your exact router model on the plate maker's chart; a "three-hole pattern" from one brand is not a promise about another brand's plate.

Kreg

Kreg's PRS4036 plate is predrilled for the Bosch 1617 and Porter-Cable 690 and 890 series.[1] The PRS4034 is predrilled for the Triton TRA001 and MOF001.[1]

The PRS4038 is not drilled. It has molded center points for two mounting patterns.[1] Kreg's lists, as its manual gives them:

  • Pattern 1 (three holes): Bosch 1617/1618, DeWalt 616/618, Hitachi M12VC, Makita 1100, Milwaukee 5616/5624, Porter-Cable 690, 890, 7529, 97529, 8529, and the Ridgid 2930 Combo Kit.[1]
  • Pattern 2 (four holes): Milwaukee 5625-20, Porter-Cable 7518, 7519, 7538 and 7539, and Triton TRA001 and MOF001.[1]

INCRA MagnaLOCK

INCRA's chart lists the MLP690890-AL plate for the Bosch 1617/1618, DeWalt DW618, Makita RF-1101/RF 1100, Milwaukee 5615/5616, Porter-Cable 690-699, 890-899 and 7529/8529, and Ridgid R2930/R2901.[2] A footnote says above-table adjuster access may need to be drilled for the Bosch 1617/1618, Milwaukee 5615/5616 and Ridgid, and the Bosch MRC23 needs 4 mm screws that are not included.[2]

The MLP7518-AL plate is listed for the Porter-Cable 7518/7519 and 7538/7539, the Milwaukee 5625, and the Triton TRC-001, TRA-001/TRA-002 and MOF-001KC.[2] The Milwaukee 5625 and Triton MOF-001KC carry the same above-table access footnote.[2]

Woodpeckers

Woodpeckers lists its AI890 plate pattern for the Porter-Cable 100, 630, 690, 890, 691, 693, 7529 and 8529, Bosch 1617 and 1618, Makita 1101, DeWalt 618 and 619, and Milwaukee 5615 and 5616-20.[3] For the Milwaukee 5615 and 5616-20, it notes there is no above-the-table adjustment tool hole.[3] Triton routers are on the separate AITRITON version, listed for the Triton TRC-001, MOF-001KC, JOF-001 and TRA-001.[3]

Screws

INCRA notes its predrilled plates may have more holes than a given router needs, and the included mounting screws may not match every compatible router.[2] Kreg includes router mounting screws only with its predrilled plates.[1] The predrilled vs blank guide covers both.

Choose the Kreg PRS4036 for a Porter-Cable 690/890 or Bosch 1617 base. Choose the Woodpeckers AITRITON variant for a Triton TRC-001, MOF-001KC, JOF-001 or TRA-001.

More on choosing

Choose the Kreg PRS4038 if your router is on Kreg's Pattern 1 or Pattern 2 list and you will drill it by Kreg's instructions. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or the brand.

Questions

Which plate fits a Porter-Cable 690 or Bosch 1617?

Kreg lists its PRS4036, INCRA its MLP690890-AL and Woodpeckers its AI890. INCRA notes above-table access may need drilling for the Bosch 1617/1618.[1][2][3]

Which plate fits a Triton TRA001?

Kreg lists its PRS4034, INCRA its MLP7518-AL and Woodpeckers its AITRITON version.[1][2][3]

Is a 3-hole pattern the same across brands?

Do not assume so. Each maker groups its own list; Kreg calls its three-hole group Pattern 1, and other makers use different plate numbers. Check your router on the maker's chart for the plate you are buying.[1]

Which plate fits a Porter-Cable 7518?

Kreg puts the 7518 in Pattern 2 of its undrilled PRS4038, and INCRA lists its MLP7518-AL plate. It is not on Woodpeckers' AI890 list.[1][2][3]
