Buying CNC spindles and accessories on Amazon or AliExpress: what to check
What to check before buying a CNC spindle or accessory online: the exact variant and supply, whether the seller is the brand, and who sells each Amazon offer.

Short answer
Before you buy a CNC spindle or accessory on Amazon or AliExpress, confirm three things: the exact variant (body size, collet system and supply voltage), whether the brand names that store as its own, and who actually ships and sells the offer. A listing that leaves any of these unclear is a reason to ask the seller or buy elsewhere.
1. Confirm the maker and the exact variant
Spindles and parts come in variants that look alike in a listing photo. Check the body diameter against your mount, the collet system against your bits, and for powered parts the stated supply.
Regional variants are common. Genmitsu sells its V2 water-cooled spindle kit in variants for the USA, Canada, Europe, the UK, Japan and Australia, yet the page states only a 110 V/60 Hz input.[1] VEVOR lists its kits on separate pages by supply: one page lists a 2.2 kW, 220 V air-cooled spindle with an ER20 collet chuck and an 80 mm clamp,[2] another a 2.2 kW, 110 V water-cooled spindle with an ER20 collet and an 80 mm body.[3] Those are listing claims. Make sure the page you buy from is the variant you need, and see 110 V vs 220 V spindles for what the makers require.
2. Check whether the seller is the brand
Brands say where they sell, and the lists differ:
| Brand | What it says about its stores |
|---|---|
| FoxAlien | Names Amazon, AliExpress and Walmart as its authorized brand stores and requires proof of purchase from them[4] |
| MICROJIG | Its online-retailer directory names Amazon and Amazon Canada, among others[5], and does not list AliExpress[5] |
| POWERTEC | Says its products are sold only on its own site, Amazon, eBay, Home Depot and Walmart[6], and that other sites claiming to sell them are not affiliated[6] |
| DeWalt | Says it does not sell tools directly to end users online and points to its authorized retailer list[7] |
A brand's list confirms a channel, not a particular store or offer. MICROJIG's absence from AliExpress is not proof that a given AliExpress listing is fake; it means MICROJIG does not name it. We could not confirm Makita's dealer guidance, so we say nothing about Makita sellers.
Drive branding needs the same care. The huanyangvfd.com site declares that it takes part in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program,[8] does not say it makes Huanyang drives and names no operating company.[8] It cannot tell you whether a Huanyang-branded kit is genuine.
3. Check who ships and sells the Amazon offer
Amazon describes Brand Stores as free, self-service storefronts for showcasing a brand's products, open to sellers enrolled in Brand Registry, vendors and agencies.[9] Arriving through a brand's store page tells you whose products you are looking at. For the offer itself, read the "Ships from" and "Sold by" lines and look for Amazon.com or the brand.

Parts from brands that name Amazon

Questions
Is that AliExpress store official?
Only the brand can say. FoxAlien names AliExpress among its authorized brand stores. MICROJIG's retailer list and POWERTEC's named channels do not include AliExpress, and POWERTEC says other sites claiming to sell its products are not affiliated with it.[4][5][6]
Is huanyangvfd.com Huanyang's own site?
We found no evidence it is. The site says it takes part in the Amazon Associates program, does not say it makes Huanyang drives and names no operating company.[8]
How do I check who sells an Amazon listing?
Read the 'Ships from' and 'Sold by' lines for the offer you are about to buy. Amazon describes Brand Stores as self-service storefronts for showcasing a brand's products; the seller of each offer is shown on those two lines, so read them every time.[9]
Does a spindle listing's voltage apply to every country?
Not necessarily. Genmitsu sells its V2 water-cooled kit in regional variants, while the page states only a 110 V/60 Hz input. Confirm the exact variant's supply before you order.[1]
