Buying router table parts on Amazon or AliExpress: what to check
Before you order a router lift or plate on Amazon or AliExpress: check the maker's fit list, the seller, return terms for drilled parts and US or Canadian import rules.

Short answer
Before you order a lift, plate or fence online, check four things: the maker lists your router or table for that exact model and variant, the seller is the brand or a seller you can verify, the return terms cover a part you might drill or install, and any import costs. A listing's "fits most tables" settles none of them.
1. Confirm the maker, model and variant
Match the listing to the maker's own fit list, not the listing's wording. Kreg's PRS5000 page says it fits all Kreg router tables, and also says "Fits Most Standard Router Tables";[1] the second line is marketing, not a fit list for your table. Predrilled plates have their own catch: INCRA notes that its predrilled plates may have more holes than a given router needs, and that the included screws may not match every compatible router.[2] Check the variant too. A lift sold in imperial and metric versions, or with two plate sizes, is two different parts. The lift compatibility guide shows how to read a maker's list.
2. Is the seller the brand?
- Guarantees follow the seller. Kreg's 90-day money-back guarantee covers original purchasers in the United States and Canada only for products bought from Kreg Tool Company or one of its authorized sellers, and Kreg says claims for products bought from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized internet sites, may be rejected.[3] That tells you why the seller matters; it does not tell you whether any Amazon seller is authorized. We could not confirm Kreg's policy on marketplace resellers.
- Dealer lists. JessEm runs a dealer locator on its website.[4] We name no dealers from it.
- Brand links are not seller checks. Bow Products' FeatherPRO page links to the Amazon listing with ASIN B01MQ4F9ST,[5] and the Amazon listing B079YY98N1 is titled as the Kreg PRS5000 with Kreg as the brand.[6] Neither tells you who sells the item on the day you order.
- Read "Ships from / Sold by". On Amazon, the seller of record is on that line, not in the brand byline. On AliExpress, read the store name. We never call a store "official", "authorized" or "genuine" from its listing.
3. Returns, before you drill
Amazon (US). Amazon's policy says most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, and returns of third-party seller-fulfilled orders go back to the seller rather than to Amazon.[7] Damage, missing parts or signs of use can bring a fee of up to 50% of the item price.[7] That is the US policy; we could not confirm Amazon's international return terms.
AliExpress.
- Free Returns apply only to items marked with the Free Returns icon, and AliExpress may change that status.[8]
- A returned item must keep its original quality and functioning, with complete accessories and intact packaging. Windows depend on the seller's location: 90 days from order for mainland China sellers, 15 days after receipt for EU sellers and 7 days for Brazil sellers.[8]
- Buyer Protection offers a refund if an item does not arrive within the guaranteed window on the order page, or if it does not match its description or arrives damaged, within 15 days.[9]
A drilled or installed plate may not meet "original quality" or "intact packaging", but no source states a rule for it. Read the seller's terms and check the fit before you drill. See free return.
4. Imports and landed cost
United States. CBP announced that, from 12:01 a.m. on August 29, 2025, goods of all countries are no longer eligible for duty-free de minimis treatment, regardless of value.[10] In February 2026, CBP confirmed that under a new executive order goods from all countries remain ineligible.[11] These rules change; check CBP before you order. We publish no surcharge rates.
Canada.
- For courier shipments, the CBSA remits duties and taxes on goods of CAD 20 or less from countries other than the US or Mexico; for goods from the US or Mexico, duties are remitted up to CAD 150 and taxes up to CAD 40.[12]
- For mail, duties and taxes are remitted at CAD 20 or less, and Canada Post charges a handling fee on each dutiable or taxable item; the fee can change.[13]

Our disclosure
Store buttons on this site may earn us a commission. The FTC says "affiliate link" alone may not be understood to mean the person is paid, and that the closer a disclosure is to the recommendation, the better;[14] it gives "I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post" as an example.[14] Amazon requires Associates to state "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases" or a substantially similar statement.[15] Canada's Competition Bureau treats commissions as a material connection to disclose.[16] See affiliate disclosure.

Questions
Are router lifts on AliExpress genuine?
A listing title cannot tell you. Check whether the store is the brand's own, compare the exact model and variant with the maker's list, and read the return and Buyer Protection terms. We call no store 'official' or 'authorized' from its listing.[9]
How do I know the seller is the brand?
Read 'Ships from / Sold by' on Amazon, or the store name on AliExpress, and compare it with the brand's own dealer information where it has one. JessEm runs a dealer locator, for example. A brand byline on a listing does not name the seller.[4]
Will I pay duty on router table parts?
Possibly. CBP says goods of all countries have been ineligible for duty-free de minimis treatment since August 29, 2025, and confirmed in February 2026 that this continues. In Canada, CBSA's courier remission covers goods of CAD 20 or less from most countries, and up to CAD 150 duty and CAD 40 tax from the US or Mexico.[10][11][12]
