Buying drip parts on Amazon or AliExpress
Before you order a drip irrigation kit on AliExpress or parts on Amazon: the stated size, who sells and ships it, return terms, and US and Canada import costs.

Short answer
Check the size first: the listing must state the tubing's OD and ID or the thread, not just "1/2 in". Then check who sells and ships it, whether the item has free returns at all, and what duty, tax and broker fees may apply to the US or Canada. A brand's storefront link does not make every seller on a listing the brand.
First, the size
A drip part fits by numbers, not by name. A listing that says "1/2 in" without an OD or ID could be any of the .620, .700 or .710 in OD sizes sold under that name. Is the seller the brand?
Brands sell through different channels, and what each brand's own page says is the best starting point.
- Rain Bird lists Amazon among its retail channels and links to a Rain Bird brand storefront there.[1] It also links its own factory-direct online store,[1] and names The Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, True Value, Menards, Do it Best, Rona and Reno Depot among its retailers.[1] Its where-to-buy page does not list AliExpress.[1]
- DIG says it does not sell directly to the public and points buyers to stores and online retailers.[2] Its page headed "Authorized Distributors, Retail & Online Stores" names Drip Depot and The Home Depot among its retail online sellers,[3] and does not list Amazon or AliExpress.[3] That does not make DIG items on Amazon unauthorized; it means seller authorization is not verified.
- Raindrip: its where-to-buy page names no retailers we could read, so we cannot say which channels it uses.
- CARPATHEN sells drip kits and 1/2, 1/4 and 5/16 in tubing on its own site.[4] When its Amazon listing B08CRSYCQS was read on October 15, 2026, the new offer was sold by "Carpathen Garden" and shipped from Amazon.[5] That is a dated snapshot; sellers change.
- AliExpress: we found no official AliExpress store for Rain Bird, DIG, Raindrip, Orbit, Mister Landscaper, Irritec, Netafim, Antelco or CARPATHEN.
Check "Ships from" and "Sold by"
Amazon tells shoppers to check "Sold by" and "Ships from" to see who sells and fulfills a third-party item.[6] On every Amazon pick on this site, look for Amazon.com or the brand in those fields. Rain Bird's storefront link proves the storefront exists, not that the offer in front of you is Rain Bird's.
Returns
AliExpress's Free Returns terms apply only to participating products, and the return period depends on the seller's location and what the order page displays.[7] The terms also require the item to keep its original quality and function, with complete accessories and full, intact packaging.[7] So keep the bag and every part until you know the fitting works, and read the order page rather than assuming a free return.
Import costs
United States. CBP says the executive order suspending duty-free de minimis treatment took effect on August 29, 2025.[8] On June 24, 2026, CBP announced regulations that indefinitely suspend duty-free de minimis treatment for imports valued at $800 or less.[8] This is as of 2026-10-15; check current CBP guidance before you order from abroad.
Canada.
- The CBSA warns that a ".ca" web address does not mean the goods are in Canada.[9]
- Couriers may clear casual shipments for you, and courier or broker fees are separate from duties and taxes.[9]
- Canada Post collects duties and taxes for the CBSA and charges a handling fee on dutiable or taxable mail items.[10] Check the current fee before you order.
- The CBSA says all international mail is subject to its review and may owe duty and GST/HST/PST.[11]
- Under Amazon's Remote Fulfillment with FBA, US sellers fill Canada orders from US inventory, and the customer is the importer of record and pays import duties, taxes and fees.[12]
Our disclosure
The FTC says affiliate marketers should disclose their relationship to the retailer clearly, and the closer the disclosure is to the recommendation, the better.[13] Our store buttons may be affiliate links, and the disclosure sits next to them.

A brand-linked example
Rain Bird links a Rain Bird storefront on Amazon[1] and lists its T63 tubing at 0.63 in OD with a 70 psi rating.[14] If your tubing measures 0.63 in OD, that is a part whose size and brand channel you can both check.

Choose T63-100, the 100 ft coil of 0.63 in OD tubing, only if your tubing measures about 0.63 in OD; choose the DripWorks 50 ft coil (.600 x .700 in, 50 psi) only if it measures about 0.700 in OD.

Questions
Are Rain Bird parts on Amazon genuine?
Rain Bird links its own brand storefront on Amazon from its where-to-buy page, but that does not cover every seller on every listing. Check that 'Sold by' and 'Ships from' show Rain Bird or Amazon.com.[1][6]
Can I buy DIG drip parts on Amazon?
DIG says it does not sell directly to the public, and its seller list names Drip Depot and The Home Depot but not Amazon. That does not make Amazon listings unauthorized; seller authorization is simply not verified.[2][3]
Are AliExpress drip kits compatible with US parts?
Only where the listing states an ID and OD that match the US part's stated size. See joining metric tubing to US parts.
Will I pay duty on drip parts shipped to Canada?
You may. The CBSA says international mail may owe duty and GST/HST/PST, Canada Post charges a handling fee on dutiable mail, and courier or broker fees are separate from duties and taxes.[11][10][9]
Does AliExpress offer free returns on drip parts?
Only on participating items. AliExpress says the return period depends on the seller's location and the order page, and the item must come back complete in intact packaging.[7]
