Short answer
Start with Park Tool's TL-1.2 tire levers, which suit any tire. Tubeless riders add a plug tool: Park Tool's TPT-1 or Stan's DART, which Stan's developed for its own sealant. For one multitool that covers chain, Torx bolts and tubeless plugs, Topeak lists the Mini PT30 with all three, though its plugs are not included.[1]
How we chose
A tool is on this list only if:
- Its maker lists what it does and what it leaves out. Topeak, for example, lists the Mini 20 Pro's chain tool for chains up to 12-speed, excluding Campagnolo hollow-pin chains.[2] We repeat those limits on each pick.
- It matches a tire system. Park Tool says the TPT-1 repairs small punctures in tubeless tires with sealant and is not compatible with inner tubes.[3] Stan's says its DART reacts with latex-based sealants and was developed for Stan's sealant.[4]
- Levers come with their maker's cautions. Park Tool says the TL-1.2's narrow tip works with tubeless systems.[5] Topeak calls the Mini 20 Pro's metal levers emergency-use only,[2] and Wolf Tooth does not recommend its Pack Pliers' lever for carbon rims.[6]
We have verified the makers' function lists for the TL-1.2, TPT-1, DART and Mini PT30, and Crankbrothers' pages for the Speedier Lever, a single 144 mm lever with a knuckle guard,[7] and the M17, whose chain tool covers 8- to 12-speed chains.[8] For the Hexus X, M19, IB-3 and RAP II 20 Tubeless, check the maker's list against your bike before you order.

What this list leaves out
- Valve core tools. Park Tool's VC-1 removes and installs Schrader and removable Presta cores, and fits Presta extenders with 5 mm wrench flats.[9] It is not in our catalog yet.
- Torque tools. Park Tool aims its ATD-1.2 at carbon components and low torque specs,[10] and Topeak lists plus or minus 4 percent accuracy for its Torq Stick Pro.[11] Neither is in our catalog yet, and neither tells you a bolt's value.
- Chain links. We recommend no chain parts.

Questions
Can I use a tubeless plug on an inner tube?
No. Park Tool says the TPT-1 is not compatible with inner tube systems. For tubes, carry patches suited to your tube or a spare.[3]
