Short answer
Brompton Electric uses its own Front Carrier Block, so it needs an Electric-compatible front bag with room for the battery.[1] Standard Brompton lines use the standard block. Check which line you ride, then check each bag's listing for that line.
How Brompton front bags attach
Brompton front bags clip onto a carrier block fixed to the front of the frame. Brompton says its Front Bags can carry up to 10 kg, and that the load sits on the frame rather than the handlebars.[1] The block is the part the bag clips to, so the bag and the block have to match.
Brompton Electric: a dedicated block
Brompton says Brompton Electric uses a dedicated Front Carrier Block, so it needs an Electric-compatible Front Bag with space for the battery.[1]
Brompton's page does not map individual bags to lines. So before you buy a front bag for an Electric, look for Electric compatibility on that bag's own listing. If the listing does not say, ask Brompton or a Brompton dealer.
Which lines take the standard block
Brompton's US Front Carrier Block listing gives fitment for these lines:[2]
| Brompton line | Listed for the standard Front Carrier Block? |
|---|---|
| A Line | Yes |
| C Line Mk5 and Mk6 | Yes |
| P Line Mk1 | Yes |
| T Line | Yes |
| G Line | Yes |
| Electric models | Not listed |
The listing names no Electric models. That absence is our reading of the list, not an explicit exclusion by Brompton; combined with Brompton's statement about a dedicated Electric block, it points the same way.
The same listing gives the block's material as plastic and names a 5 mm and a 4 mm Allen key and a Phillips screwdriver as the tools required.[2] It states no maximum load for the block itself.
A quick check before you buy
- Find your line and generation (for example C Line Mk6, or Electric). Ask a Brompton dealer if you are not sure.
- If you ride an Electric, look for a bag that its listing says is Electric-compatible.
- If you ride a standard line, check that your line is on the block's fitment list.
- Keep the load at or under Brompton's 10 kg for Front Bags.
We do not list a Brompton bag on this page yet. Brompton's own listings are the place to confirm fit.
