Short answer
Buy 51 mm tools for the Dedica EC685. De'Longhi says its 51 mm DLSC080 tamper fits all its manual espresso machine portafilters, and the retailer Kaffeemacher recommends 51 mm tools for the EC685, but no De'Longhi page we checked states the Dedica's diameter. For a bottomless portafilter, note that De'Longhi's own 51 mm DLSC085 is listed for La Specialista and Dedica Maestro model codes, not for the Dedica EC685 or EC885.

- Aftermarket De'Longhi bottomless portafilters come in two-ear and three-ear versions. Count the locking ears on your portafilter before ordering.
- The 51 mm figure for the Dedica comes from a retailer and De'Longhi's general tamper statement, not from a Dedica specification.

Questions
What size tamper fits the De'Longhi Dedica?
51 mm. De'Longhi says its 51 mm DLSC080 tamper fits all its manual espresso machine portafilters, and the retailer Kaffeemacher recommends 51 mm tools for the EC685. No De'Longhi page we checked states the Dedica's diameter directly.[2][1]
Does De'Longhi's bottomless portafilter fit the Dedica EC685?
Not according to the model list we found: a retailer lists the DLSC085 for La Specialista and Dedica Maestro models, and the EC685 and EC885 are not on it. De'Longhi's own pages for the part show no model list.[3]
How do I choose an aftermarket bottomless portafilter for a Dedica?
Buy one whose listing names your model code. Some sellers offer De'Longhi versions with two or three locking ears, so count the ears on your current portafilter first. If one will not lock in, see why a portafilter won't lock.
