Short answer

Both fit a 3/4 x 3/8 in miter slot and T-track by their makers' listings, so choose by the hardware and documentation you want. Bow publishes its T-bolt thread and head size; Kreg's manual gives a setup figure and router-table placement rules. Neither is a safety device, and we do not rank them on safety.

Choose the Kreg True-FLEX if you want the maker's router-table placement rules in the manual

Kreg lists Wedge-Lock hardware for 3/8 x 3/4 in miter slots and a T-track bolt, washer and knob for T-slots, and its manual gives a setup figure and router-table placement rules.

Limitation: The manual gives no slot dimensions or bolt thread; Kreg states it is not an anti-kickback or safety device. For a pair, choose the PRS3020 twin pack.

Choose the Bow FeatherPRO if you need published T-bolt head dimensions

Bow lists a 3/4 in AnchorPRO bar for 3/8 x 3/4 in slots and two 1-1/2 in 5/16-18 T-bolts with a published 0.090 x 0.45 x 0.725 in head.

Limitation: Bow's 1/4 to 3/4 in T-track wording is its own; compare the head size with your channel. Bow's page carries no formal warning text, and we do not repeat its safety wording.

How we compared them

Both featherboards are in our approved catalog, and both makers state how they mount. We compare only fit and the makers' own instructions and limits: slot and track mounts, the hardware each maker lists, Kreg's setup instruction, and the limit Kreg's manual states. We have not handled either one. We picked them for fit only.

Kreg's True-FLEX mounts in a T-track or T-slot with a T-track bolt, washer and knob, or in a miter slot using a wedge lock.[3] The manual gives no slot dimensions.

Bow's FeatherPRO comes with a 3/4 in AnchorPRO miter bar and can also mount to T-track. For track, Bow says its 5/16-18 T-bolts fit 1/4 in to 3/4 in T-tracks and gives the head size.[2] Bow's track range is its own wording; the head size is what you can compare with your channel. See our T-track bolt guide.

Setup instructions

Kreg's manual says to set the finger tips 1/16 in less than the workpiece width or thickness from the fence or tabletop, with the direction-of-feed arrow pointing the way the work is fed.[3] For router tables, it allows the featherboard horizontally in the miter slot and vertically in a fence T-slot at the infeed and outfeed ends of the bit, never pressing directly against the side of the bit or straight down over it.[3]

Those are Kreg's instructions for the True-FLEX. If you choose the FeatherPRO, follow the instructions Bow packs with it.

The makers' safety limits

Kreg's True-FLEX manual states that the featherboard is not an anti-kickback or safety device and does not replace the safety devices included with your power tool.[3]

Bow's page uses promotional safety wording and carries no formal warning text. We do not repeat that wording, and we make no safety claim for either featherboard. Our featherboard placement guide collects what the manuals say.

Who should choose which

  • You want the maker's router-table placement rules in the box: the Kreg True-FLEX. Choose the PRS3010 for one, or the PRS3020 twin pack for a horizontal and vertical pair.
  • Your table has T-track and you want to check bolt fit before buying: the Bow FeatherPRO, because Bow publishes the thread and head size.
  • You only have a 3/4 x 3/8 in miter slot: either; both makers list that slot.

Questions

Which featherboard fits a 3/4 in miter slot?

Both, by their makers' listings. Kreg lists the True-FLEX for 3/8 x 3/4 in miter slots with a wedge lock, and Bow lists a 3/4 in AnchorPRO bar for 3/8 x 3/4 in slots on the FeatherPRO.[1][2]

Which one fits my T-track?

Bow publishes its T-bolt as 5/16-18 with a 0.090 x 0.45 x 0.725 in head, so you can compare it with your track. Kreg lists a T-track bolt, washer and knob but gives no head size in the manual.[2][3]

Is either one safer?

We do not rank them on safety. Kreg's manual says the True-FLEX is not an anti-kickback or safety device and does not replace the tool's safety devices; we make no safety claim for either featherboard.[3]

Can I buy the True-FLEX as a pair?

Yes. Kreg sells the True-FLEX as the PRS3010 single and the PRS3020 twin pack.[3]
